Arif and Chad (from the Athletic Mock 6.0 only first 3 rounds). They will have one more best case on Thursday.

Top 4 tackles, top 2 CB and Fulton, and the top 3 WRS plus Jefferson, Higgins, Teagor, and Shenault are already off of the board. (kind of a worst case scenario mock with Twitter voting for picks)

(22) 1. Trade down with Browns and get picks 41,74, and 187
(25) 1. Jeff Gladney CB (picked over Mims, Austin Jackson, and DT Ross Blacklock)
(41) 2. Antoine Winfield S (picked over Austin Jackson and Pittman)
(58) 2. Isiah Wilson OT G (picked over DT Nevilee Gallimore and WR Bryan Edwards)
(74) 3. Van Jefferson, WR Florida ( picked over G Roberth Hunt and DT James Lynch)
(89) 3. Robert Hunt G Louisiana-Lafayatte (picked over DT James Lynch and WR Gabriel Davis
(90) 3. James Lynch DT Baylor

Eeewww!
Hate that draft....

Yep...worse case draft....

Don't agree at all.

I much prefer other WRs than Jefferson early third but otherwise it's fine.

Now, if you weigh them against the available players ... me no like.

I think people in here are going to like our actual draft a lot less than this one.
(No way Spielman focuses on our glaring holes the way us mockers do. CB, OL, WR in first four picks would be outstanding – there's no way that's actually happening)

However ...

Re-arrange a bit, throw out Jefferson and replace with a third rd CB and ...

CB Gladney
WR Pittman
RT Isaiah Wilson
G Robert Hunt
CB Dane Jackson (?)
DT James Lynch

Add
S K'von Wallace (4th)
WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (5th)
DE Derrek Tuszka (6th)
OG Julian Good-Jones (6th)
TE Sean McKeon (7th)
S Nigel Warrior (7th)
LB Shaun Bradley(7th)

... it's SUPER BOWL baby.

It's good. Gladney would be solid for our first pick. I think Pittman would be poor value for our second pick. Wilson, Hunt, Wallace and Peoples-Jones would be excellent values.

Personally, I would stay away from WR in rounds 1 through 3. I think this WR class is way overrated. Don't really see any difference makers, and most of thee guys are just as likely to be busts. We drafted Diggs late, and Treadwell early (most "pro ready" WR wasn't even close). Remember guys like him and Doctson as "can't miss"

I watch these guys and most look like okay WRs with more downside, than upside.

This class is way more deep than top end talented IMO.

First of all nice to hear from you Arlow84. Don't be a stranger! And I agree with you. I am thinking that I am ok if we wait until the third round for a receiver. I believe we can still get a starter there. I doubt that happens though.

Bruce I don't know about you but with what is happening with the Corona and how many needs the Vikes need....it is going to be fun on the chat board and watching the draft the next few days.

Thanks for all the links too....keeps the mind occupied buddy.

I think the 1st round WR are overrated....if we picked up Tyler Johnson in the mid rounds plus fill other needs I would be happy.

Latest Trent Williams Stuff

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports "no trade is expected" between the Buccaneers and Redskins for disgruntled LT Trent Williams.
It was recently leaked that the two sides were in talks back in February to swap O.J. Howard for Williams, but the teams reportedly aren't re-entering conversations ahead of the draft. That of course could change in the next 24 hours. Washington recently stripped the 31-year-old left tackle and his agent of conducting their own trade around the league, meaning whatever happens (if anything) prior to the team's No. 2 overall pick being announced would be finalized entirely by Ron Rivera and the rest of the Skins' front office. This saga sounds as if it's close to coming to an end.

RELATED: O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Also I heard a rumor that Dan Patrick said that Washington was going to get a first round pick for Williams. That sounds unbelievable and if it were to be true it would be in next years draft and have conditions on it such as Washington sending a 2nd round pick to the team sending them the first.

Plus, most WR's generally take a year or two before they start to make a big impact. After the big three there are about 10 guys who seem to grade out similarly. They all bring different skill sets so RS should be able to find an impact player that fits Kubiak's system in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Dana Turner -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/22/2020 6:24:32 PM)

I have this feeling that the Vikings are only going to make one first round selection this year. A trade back from either of their two picks is highly possible/probable since there are a whole bunch of guys that are all about the same from 20 to 40, value wise. Hell, Id be happy with trading both first rounders for early second rounds and more ammo. I think you will be able to still get Ruiz at 33 or 34, and probably one of Gladney, Fulton or Terrell at 35/36. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

I think he plans to trade out of both spots but trade back into 25.

Would be fine with something like a pick at 25-30, 30-40, ~ 45, ~ 65. Didn't check the points chart.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/22/2020 6:39:59 PM)

22 to 27, 100 pts
25 to 30, 100 pts

58 to 45, 130 pts
89 to 75, 70 pts

Picks, 27, 30, 45, 70 plus the 3rd round supplemental.

Out of those 10 there will be two or three that end up being great. It is on Rick and his staff to figure out which are the right ones.

Doctson and Treadwell are cautionary tales to be sure, but it's a dangerous game to make past prologue regarding individuals, especially with so many variables involved.

I believe that if we want a top WR, we need to choose btwn Mims, Reagor, Aiyuk, and Pittman between 22 and about 40-45. Higgins looks like Treadwell II (as I go directly against what I stated above!!!) and Hamler has hams for hands, or else his name would be Handler. That's science right there.....

It's no secret the #Vikings will look for wide receivers in the draft. One source says they really want a very fast guy to stretch the defense.

If this is true, Mims, Reagor, Aiyuk, and Hamler are the ones to take the top off the defense. Of course, there might be a lower-rated guy who everyone is wrong about that can fly, but these would seem to be the guys who have a chance to make a difference. Spielman has said something like there are guys who are going to go in the fourth or fifth that will contribute right away, but that hardly seems like something you can count on.

Mims combine time was the fastest of that group, but I have heard from the people who watch a lot of football in that conference and they all say Reagor plays the fastest. I personally like Mims the best, because he has the size, speed and production. He's also very physical.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: NFL Draft 2020 (4/22/2020 7:50:01 PM)

I don't believe in making a trade just for the sake of a trade. When you are at, say #25, if there is a player on your board that you rate as a blue chipper (top 15) then your pick is worth (#15)' You may get a nice value at the lower pick, but the value of the first round, especially as you get closer to #1 is very expensive. If you study the trade value chart you will see this is the case.

Mims would be a great addition ... IMO any of the big athletic outside guys. We haven't had something like that for a long time.

As much as I like Jefferson, he just seems like Thielen II – I'd be nice to get a different type to attack defenders with a variety.

I was looking at the 3 cone drill times. I was expecting Reagor to do better than Mims, but it was not the case. There are some who will argue that the 3 cone drill time is more valuable information than the 40 time because players don't run 40 yards in a straight line. Just saying.

I guess where I come down is if I was evaluating I would want all of the information, but I would put more credence on how fast they are on film. That would actually add more value to Reagor over Mims. Does that make sense? But again, I would want to know if the player shows up for the big games, how they do vs top competition, and that last one means I would put some extra weight on how they do at the Senior Bowl and Senior Bowl practices. I would put more weight on that then the combine, which is kind of like underwear Olympics.

The senior bowl was where Mims just dominated. In the 1 on 1s he got separation IIRC 94.5% of the time.

First of all I would like to say THANK YOU to all of the great posters who have given me so much info on draft prospects especially Bruce! I really love the draft and it will be special this year! I believe if trader Rick does not have a slam dunk draft this will be his last with the Vikes. I believe we trade our first pick to get more ammo in the second. I think we will go CB, OL,WR with our first three picks what ever number they are lol! Looking forward to tomorrow!!
