I don't mind the regime trying to put their own stamp on things. I would.

I'm not sure my sole focus would be extinguishing all traces of Spielman's last draft class in one offseason ... it kind of seems like a newbie GM making too strong a point.

I guess we'll see how all this turns out.

I just wish we were giving some attention to the cracks in the dam spouting water.

Some seem too obvious...Ish can't handle punts, they bring in three for C/G (Reed, Schlottman, and Davis) trade away the lesser, Watts can't defend the run. Try a couple other guys in those back of the roster spots.

I think Suh is coming. I think a Kelce or another C also....after week 1 when contracts aren't guaranteed.

"I think Suh is coming. I think a Kelce or another C also....after week 1 when contracts aren't guaranteed."

I agree... and it's not a terrible strategy... except I have a deep seated need to beat GB out of the gate... sure hope it all falls into place.

I hope you're wrong about Suh. His career is in rapid decline and it feels like the Vikings could sign him just in time for the bottom to fall out.

Regarding ISM…there’s this to consider….

“there was some tension in the locker room after he told rookie CB Andrew Booth “sleep with both eyes open, b*tch.”

“…it could’ve been his, quote, “thirsty” comments towards star WR Justin Jefferson’s girlfriend that did him in.

I read somewhere ISM has some pretty serious maturity issues.

We never really get what the locker room feeling is on a player. Which can sometimes be the final reason to move on from a guy.

David F. -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/31/2022 3:54:04 PM)

In regard to ISM’s cut: supposedly there are three things you never talk about in the locker room. Playing time, money, and someone’s woman. Bye ISM.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/31/2022 4:00:52 PM)

Suh had a huge play in last year's playoff game against the Rams, gave Tampa a chance. I think he still has something left.

I am going to assume everything the Vikings are doing right now is a good move, until proven otherwise.

I agree wholeheartedly with getting Mullens, and letting go of Mannion and Mond. From this, I will assume they're likely to be making the right decisions. And I have a feeling Ingram is a stud.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/31/2022 4:01:06 PM)

We need a real Center far more than we need a Suh.

Go get a good C.

Please

He looked good for TB last year...I just see ZED, Hunter, and Suh together scary.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/31/2022 4:04:08 PM)

So far I do like what the team has done for the most part.

They are plugging holes and shoring up weaknesses. Now our biggest weakness is Bradbury can't pass block to save his life in a pass happy offense.

They NEED to address this more than anything else at this point. After that. DL and CB...but for now...C should be the sole focus.

Born2Blitz -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/31/2022 4:05:55 PM)

In case this has not been posted

Howie Rosen on Jalen Reagor:

“I just felt like he made plays this summer, and it started right from the beginning, from Day 1 of training camp, and it continued on throughout the practices that we had,” Nick Sirianni said Tuesday after final cuts.

“You could definitely see the explosion — he's never lost that, right? He's had this explosion in his body, and he uses it to separate from the defense.”

Reagor did catch a few deep balls at practice, but he also played 65 snaps in the three preseason games as the Eagles were obviously showcasing him and had five catches for 43 yards.

“I just thought he had a good camp and he made plays and he was more consistent this year throughout training camp,” Sirianni said.

Even though he’s starting his third season, Reagor is actually the youngest receiver on the team.

He’s younger than Allen and Covey — who were older undrafted rookies — and three years younger than Cain. He’s even 49 days younger than DeVonta Smith, last year’s first-round pick.

That’s not a reason to keep him, but it is interesting to note.

“I think when you look at Jalen, one of the things that one of our scouts said to me (Tuesday) is he was one of the only guys that practiced every day,” Roseman said. “The guy brought it every day. He worked on his craft. He had a great attitude, great energy. Obviously, he's a talented guy. He's 23 years old.”

Good kid and works hard. Maybe JJ will rub off on him?

Who did they cut from Spielman's last class that didn't suck?

I don’t know … since IMO it should take atleast 2 years to get the death sentence through the court system.

Could be where he was quoted mocking Zygi Wilf's skid marked underwear.

Or where he's quoted saying Soylent Green is the way to go.

I thought he looked pretty mediocre for Tampa last year.

Mostly during the playoffs and prime time is when I saw him do plenty.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/31/2022 4:18:29 PM)

Suh has the fat to play NT. Phillips is a bit light for it.

I don't mind taking a flyer on the guy long as it is more in the 6ish ml range.

Ricky J -> RE: General Vikes Talk (8/31/2022 4:27:37 PM)

I didn't see mention of this one in here:

Josh Tolentino

@JCTSports
Jalen Reagor isn't the only former #Eagles player heading to Minnesota.

Cornerback Tay Gowan is signing with #Vikings practice squad, according to a league source. Gowan was originally acquired in the Zach Ertz trade last season with the Cardinals.

I think this came from a parody account. The guy said the info came from ISM's agent, which sounds like BS, and he said he lied about being off the record. No reporter operates that way, at least not for long.

We waived Ihmir Smith for this move?

Could kept 6 WR. DUMB. [X(]

Not looking good. Almost Identical to the Watts for Blacklock move. We kept Nailor over Smith-Marsette is very surprising.

Easy. Anything before 2022 takes a back seat.

Overly inflated ego showing again.

?? 5th WR that can't return punts gone for someone that can and is explosive at it.

One good return of 70+ is all he has to hang his hat on.

Remember though; blocking is important on returns. First thing first catching punts (Ish can't). If we keep a 6th it was Chisena for ST....same as the 5th...Reagor is better at ST.

You might want to change your MO and do a little research. Reagor has muffed more than a couple of punts.

In fact, Reagor muffed two punts in the wild-card game against TB, sending fans into a furor.

Last Viking receiver that was picked up from the Eagles only caught TDs.....CC.

Might be good karma.

I'm not going to freak out about back of the roster moves. Let these guys field the team they want and judge them on results, not projections.
