Wolves up 8 in the third for anyone who wants to tune in.

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/29/2022 9:38:34 PM)

Malik Willis finally picked at 3-22 by Tennessee I think.

12, 46, 77, and 192 for
32, 42, 59, 66, and 144

That looks like tons of value to me.

Well, it's not. At least off Rich Hill's chart.

541 v 508. The 33 delta equates to the pick at the very top of the 4th.

who dafuq is Rich Hill?

We got good value and we covered needs

I thought we had 122.

We do; I entered it wrong here. Apologies.

That's the newer chart.

We didn't get good value on the trades, we lost but not by much. Pick 126 is the delta. So call it a wash.

We addressed needs, that's all we did.

Using my picks not bohumms:

12, 46, 77, 192 = 541
32, 42, 59, 66, 122 = 518

That's one value chart. PFF is another, though I haven't looked to see their tally. That is more based on historical outcomes.

Love the look of our new LB.

I like how his highlight clips are ground level or weird angles, not from TV broadcasts. Because their games are rarely televised.

Todd M -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/29/2022 11:05:05 PM)

I like our safety. Cautiously optimistic about our CB. Skeptical of our guard. Love our safety.

All that moving around didn't really impress me. Not mad or disappointed but it seemed to be more for show than go.

Love the look of our new LB.

Asamoah and Cine have some mean and nasty to them. Both look very athletic.

Ingram: 2020 was very good. 2021 not very good. Off the field stuff is iffy to say the least.

Booth Jr.: Says he has played hurt most of his college career. And was pretty darn good. Maybe a boom or bust guy(because of injuries)

Well, we have an extra player at this point because of it, and we have a fourth-rounder we didn't have before, so there are tangible results. The question of whether it was worth it to get the extra guys will be answered over a 1- to 3-year timeframe.

Williams and Watson might haunt us now and then.

But, KAM and KOC had a vision of loading up on 2nd and 3rd Rounders and executed it. And getting a 4th back.

Need a DLine guy tomorrow along with some receivers.

Agree with Todd, a lot of moving around ... seemed like trying to prove something more than anything else.

We gave up some things and got some things.

we gained an extra 2nd and 4th rounder, drafted higher in the third ...
we also gave up significant 1st and 2nd rd value on two out of four picks ...
it also felt like we helped two division rivals accomplish their draft goals ...

The bottomline is, we stand right now with Cine (who I like), Booth (who I like but have serious concerns with), Ingram (reach), Asamoah (meh), an extra 4th rd pick tomorrow, one less 6th rd pick tomorrow. I view those 'tangible results' ... before the draft has even ended ... as decent not dramatic improvement overall (so far) but its not quite over.

We'll re-evaluate after the draft and UDFAs

I'll be surprised if our 4th rounder is not a TE.

double post

lyle chabot -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 1:10:02 AM)

Overall this draft for me is meh, not impressed and for the love of God stop trading draft picks/ helping our division rivals!
We will see how these picks pan out over the next few years
I just don't see how you are drafting at 12 and do not get a game changer.

marty -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 1:22:26 AM)

I don't like the idea of trading within the division, but I think the Lions got a WR that will be injury prone, and the Pack a WR that drops a lot of passes, good chance he is a dud.

marty -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 1:27:18 AM)

I am quite excited about the Vikings' draft, I think they got 4 studs.

I think 3 of them will be starting by mid season. Asomoah will be used primarily on 3rd downs, and needs to learn not to tackle high.

Love the closing speed of Cine and Booth, just concerned that Booth could be injury prone. Ingram should take over and be more than solid at RG.

The only way the draft could have been better for me is if they had drafted a stud WR.

marty -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 1:36:29 AM)

At least Rambo is still available.

ratoppenheimer -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 3:05:42 AM)

.
.
word is that reed has been taking some snaps at center...it would be great if right guard was a competition between ingram and wyatt davis, and reed versus bradbury in the middle....

i'm still a little disappointed about not drafting jameson Williams, but the truth is, kwesi did what i always wanted spielman to do; trade back and focus on the 2nd round, and he damn near almost ended up with four 2nd round picks....

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 4:27:12 AM)

Watching film on Christian Watson and he totally reminds me of Moritz BowFinger. Check him out.

Todd M -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 4:41:57 AM)

Amare Barno sounds like our next 4th round DE.

Todd M -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 4:43:51 AM)

6'5 4.36 40.

kgdabom -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 5:04:29 AM)

Vikings came one pick early for Cine and 2 picks late for Asamoah of having 4 2nd round picks.

Yes, good point.

Kwesi doesn't have a track record so it's hard to judge how well he did with big reach Ingram and small reach Asamoah ... but its hard to argue with the positions we addressed also.

Tom Sykes -> RE: 2022 NFL draft (4/30/2022 7:50:14 AM)

Our weakest starting links at this point are C and TE ... not that we'll find starter cometition in the fourth ...

would really like to take a stab at TE if Kolar is still there when we pick (maybe Otton, think we met with Bellinger).

dang there's not a lot of options this draft at center (Chasen Hines? Zach Tom?)

OT (Brandel, Udoh) is super thin.

CB Zyon McCollum 6-2 199 4.33 39.5 vert 3.94 20 yd shuttle - ballhawk with great measurables, big time gunner, has safety potential also

WR Shakir (6-0 196 4.43 - Inside gadget type with tremendous intangibles) or Calvin Austin (5-8 170 4.32 39"vert - tiny but fearless, super fast and can elevate / return punts)

I think we have depth at DE / OLB Jones Robinson Willekes Wonnum and DT Tomlinson Phillips Watts so maybe a pure Edge (Todd's Barno) or huge space eating NT (Ridgeway6-5 321, Farrell 6-4 330)
