Talbot is a standup guy. He may not be happy about it but he'll play nice.

Yup, he will state his displeasure to BG now, but once the season starts he will be all in.

TJSweens -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/11/2022 9:49:46 PM)

Jack LaFontaine left the Gophers mid-season in a punk ass bitch move. Now Carolina didn't tender him a contract offer and he is without a job. I can't make myself feel bad about that.

I felt the same way when I saw that article in the Stirb yesterday. He got a nice bonus to sign, but got smoked in his one game in the show and his hockey career is over. Karma.....

I wouldn't mind signing him to a low toil Minor League contract with almost no $$$$.

I think so too.
I'd be chapped if treated the way he was in the playoffs as well.

It was dumb and contributed (imo) to our early exit to give the keys to flower and then throw Cam in cold for
"do or die" game.

That's on Guerin and Evason.
I'm sure Guerin pushed it, but Dean should have pushed back.

bstinger -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 5:26:33 PM)

Talbot is gone.

bstinger -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 5:28:06 PM)

I don't like what Billy has done here with the Goalies.

Talbot + Kahkonen >>> Fluery + Gustavsson , I think.

bstinger -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 5:33:23 PM)

I'm officially more excited about the T-Wolves upcoming season than the Wild. That is RARE!

Agreed, but I know nothing of Gus.
Flower gives me no confidence.

kevinemmer -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 5:54:15 PM)

Sounds like we save 4 Million with Gus
Sens fans upset to lose Gus, who is 24, so there is that also

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 6:24:56 PM)

Certainly didn’t expect that 😳

Great, more flower 😖

I know nothing about him but his age and his stats, which were sub-par last year in limited duty. 5-12-1 3.55 GAA .892 SV%
Hope that was because he was playing with crappy D and not that he sucks.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 6:27:06 PM)

I wouldn’t even bother with his stats. The Senators were terrible

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 9:23:27 PM)

Dubnyk was a supposed sub par goalie when he came too. Ok he was a sub par goalie when he left too. But in between there he was viewed as a savior.

I’ll just hope that the wild found a diamond in the rough as a cheaper #2 goalie option.

There was never a moment where Dubnyk was viewed as a savior.

stfrank -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 9:51:36 PM)

I think we just got worse at the goalie position this season thanks to Guerin's man crush on Flower and arrogance on his part.
The lose of Fiala, and now getting weaker in the net may just help us in the future in the way of draft picks. I don't see this team winning as many games as last season depending on a 38 year old goalie to play 50+ games. We did gain some cap space so there is that......

bstinger -> RE: Wild Post Mortem, Off Season and Draft (7/12/2022 9:54:22 PM)

Maybe Bill knows KK won't be back and is thinking of tanking now?

Easy to say that now. But I’m remembering when he first arrived. Team was viewed as being pretty good but being held back by shitty goaltending. We dealt for Dubnyk, people were like “What? He’s no good.” But then he went on a hot streak, the team started winning. And everyone loved him…so yes for about a half a season he was viewed as a savior.

We don’t even need this new guy to be a savior. He just needs to be a decent cheap #2 for a couple of years. Maybe only one.

I think he needs the $$$ to get a better scorer for that exact possibility.

You get weaker in the goal, you damn well better be able to put pucks in the net. Losing Fiala weakens us there too. Let's add Billy's idiotic man crush on Dumbo to the reasons we're boxed in. Add the $6 million, he makes, to the $5 million in cap space we currently have and you can do some things.

The mistake with Dubes was giving him a big contract....made it a mistake from a good move.

Dumba on a 1 year will be a way easier contract to trade....just wondering if he wants to build up value and trade him during the season or some team that is desperate this offseason......when is the last time he was relevant.

To get the salary dump we would really need to sweeten it as he is way overpaid.

Id like nothing better than moving Dumba now as opposed to later, but I don't think there is much of a market for him to be honest.
At this point just gaining his cap space would be a win.....maybe add a bag of pucks to sweeten the pot? [:D]

Yes. He parlayed a hot streak into millions of dollars. Good for him I guess.

And he did make for the funniest profile avatar ever. The beach ball. So there’s that.
