Lesnar demolished Mir in the rematch. He's becoming a villian in MMA and is being scolded by Dana White but he's a blast to watch. UFC 100 rocked.

Was hoping you'd chime in on The Beast.
You (as usual) seem to share my opinion.
Good for the sport.
Gotta have guys like that.
Amazing to think that kind of attitude is coming from a guy who grew up like he did.
Its an incredible story. (I know guys who knew himm growing up and still know him)

I haven't seen a whole lot of MMA, but I was a huge fan of Lesnar in the WWF/E, and he's the kind of guy that could bring legions of new fans to the sport.

The guy is such a bad ass.  He's huge, he's got charisma, and some serious quickness for a guy that size.  Remarkable agility, especially given that he damn near broke his neck about six years ago.

That's a 290-300 pound man trying to do a move that's usually reserved for guys that weigh 100 pounds less.  And damn near pulling it off.

He's an absolute beast at what he does, but his post-fight behavior was not cool.  The one thing that stands out (except in this case) to me in this sport is the respect and sportsmanship.  Lesnar acted like a fool.  And even he isn't bigger than Dana White.

Personally, the most appealing aspect of MMA is the mutual respect.  Being the "villan" is a poor career move, IMO.

He better get smart.  Fame is short lived in this sport.  Ask Hughes.

Agreed the fighters do seem to have much respect for each other. I think they appreciate the work and stones it takes to be a MMA competitior.

He did apologize for his behavior after the fight.  And with his size, dexterity, and endurance...he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

thebigo -> RE: Brock Lesner (7/5/2010 4:42:23 PM)

Yeah baby.

I still think if Lesnar had stuck it out in football, spent a season on the practice squad (or something) refining his football skills and IQ/aptitude, he would have made a solid NFL DLineman. Maybe more than solid.

Karl H -> RE: Brock Lesner (10/23/2010 11:40:09 PM)

Lesnar didn't look good at all in this loss to Velasquez.  A 1st round TKO, and a massive cut under his right eye as a parting gift.

The UFC belt apparently heads downt to Mexico, althought I'm not quite sure how as Velasquez was born, went to high school, graduated college, and resides in the USA.  Go figure.

DM613 -> RE: Brock Lesner (11/19/2011 1:36:10 AM)

MMA is definitely not my thing, but I appreciate the kind of work did Lesnar get to this point and I wish him all the best. I am glad I did well. I guess that's his words that he won his fight
