bullshit flop...**** the nfl

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/29/2023 9:02:29 PM)

Wow, 27 yard punt return then a personal foul.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/29/2023 9:02:55 PM)

What a way to lose.

There were a couple of close calls that went against Cincy in the 4th. Apparently KC played flawless [&o]

After watching the last half of the KC game the Nationally Fixed League made sure I won't be watching any of the Super Bowl.....what a joke the NFL has become.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/29/2023 9:06:25 PM)

Lousy Burrow falls to 3-1 against Mahomes.

You get overtime if you don't shove Mahomes 2 yards out of bounds... not saying the refs were great but you gotta play smart football.

No one is going to provide some irrational emotional defense like we’d expect when cousins is questioned. No list of excuses, no deep-dive stat pulls, nothing.

Every drive (both teams) in the 4th had a penalty against Cincy.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/29/2023 9:10:23 PM)

Without a question a clear PF penalty for late hit OOB. Anyone not seeing it is blind or biased.

Right.

God knows Cousins has never hit a hot read in his life like Hurts did this afternoon - especially without having to elude the pressure or scramble out of it.

My bad for jumpiing into this mess

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 6:02:02 AM)

There was a hit out of bounds, much further out of bounds by a KC player (near the goal line) earlier in the 4th quarter, and it didn't draw a flag.

I think Cincy probably would have still lost the game, even if it hadn't been swayed in KCs favor. Same thing with SF and Philly

ronhextall -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 8:04:25 AM)

Never read about a fanbase that said "we only won because of the officiating".

You read the opposite every week.

Burrow threw two picks, they couldn't shut down a QB with one leg, a player risked it all with a late hit that was totally unnecessary.

Good Luck, is all I have to say when those are on the wrong side of your ledger.

Bill Jandro -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 8:17:21 AM)

-One thing I noticed during both games was that their cb's were primarily at the LOS vs 15 yards back.

-KC plays their rookies. #10 Pachero was a 7th rd pick. KC drafts a lot of speed guys.

-The officiating stunk for both games. The NFL should be ashamed of itself.

ronhextall -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 8:21:11 AM)

Cousins likely isn’t going to get Vikings over the top (unless you have a once in a generation defense)

BUT …. You simple need to draft better and cut old slow players sooner than the Vikings have. IMO that’s more important.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 8:22:44 AM)

Why would a fanbase ever say the officials made sure we won ?

TJSweens -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 8:34:25 AM)

I turns out that no NFL game, regardless of teams, would be complete without Viking fans bitching about the officiating.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 8:39:27 AM)

Was reading elsewhere some comments about the timing of Ossai's penalty. There were a couple of camps. Those that blamed him directly for the loss (well, an easier FG) vs those saying there were other reasons, plays, etc that were just as bad.

Such a debate is nothing new. But a bonehead play with the game essentially on the line is still a bonehead play that deserves all the criticism is gets.

Or one particular NFL game whose officiating is being questioned by outlets around the nation?

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (1/30/2023 8:47:41 AM)

8 out of the last 9 Super Bowls were won by QBs not on their rookie deal.

Brady single-handedly skews that stat by being 4 of the 8.

And Brady wasn’t ever/usually a salary cap hog based on what my understanding is.

This might help, but one would have to do a lot of slicing and dicing: https://overthecap.com/contract-history/quarterback

It seemed (without anything to back it up) he did NE right, especially considering he could have demanded the moon.

There was probably a point in history where 8 of the last 9 Wimbledons were won with a wooden racket.
