Maeda had a nice stretch off the IL

He's not very good right now.

Mister Ed -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (9/3/2023 2:31:48 PM)

It's an ugly back/back with Keuchel and Maeda

Mister Ed -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (9/3/2023 2:32:16 PM)

Pablo
Gray
Ryan
Then 2 days of bullpen cryin

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (9/3/2023 3:46:02 PM)

Cory Provus not on the Twins broadcasts this weekend. I assumed vacation, of course. But I see he did play-by-play on the Purdue football game yesterday. How did he pull that off? He should be doing his primary job.

Mister Ed -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (9/3/2023 3:59:20 PM)

Rocco must have a bond with Bochy. He's sure been trying to give away games. Today he will. Leaving Sands in after the sixth inning. SMH

Oh boo hoo the bullpen is tired.

Not that bad.
Check this out on Gallo...and Rocco says Kiriloff will NOT be joining them in Cleveland despite 9-14 in AAA so far..IDIOT

Strib Phil Miller

Joey Gallo interrupted an epic second-half slump (6-for-51) with a 4-for-4 game on Aug. 12. Since then, the drought has gotten unreal: 1-for-25 w/16 Ks. The lone hit, a grounder up the middle on Aug. 16, is the only time he's hit the ball out of the infield in three weeks.

Rays finally beat the Guardians so I don't care what the Twins did.

He should be doing what his contract specifies. And I'm sure there were provisions in it so that he could do the occasional football game.

Who filled in for his Twins gig? How was he/she?

Cleveland using a position player in the Sixth inning on.

Should be a rule against it. Burn up a gassed pen.

Mister Ed -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (9/4/2023 7:20:13 PM)

Gallo homers. LOL
Finally found someone he can hit.

Ricky J -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (9/4/2023 7:24:08 PM)

How would you like this to be the day you drove 4 hours with the kids to see a baseball game. Ugh!

I had the exact same thought. I was figuring that somewhere in that crowd of Cleveland fans there was someone for whom this was their first game ever. If they're young, it'll bounce off of them because they'll probably have plenty of other opportunities. But for someone older who, perhaps due to life's circumstances, had never had the pleasure of sitting in a ballpark and seeing his/her team play, I admit to feeling quite a bit of sympathy.

I think we need to settle down a little bit. 3 grand slams in 8 games is a lot of luck.

Gladden was also off.

So it was Atteberry on play-by-play and Molitor doing the color.

When I tuned in mid-game on Sunday, I was convinced Atteberry was doing the game solo. He talked for an entire half inning (without stopping). Then about midway through the next half inning, I hear him ask Paul something. Must have been a bathroom break for Molitor? Although he tends to not say much. But really weird to only hear one guy for 15 straight minutes.

I saw a tweet about Schwarber hitting 40 homers and 39 singles (.193 avg). So I check to confirm he's leading off. He is. Last night: 3ab 3r 2h 3bb 1rbi 1hr.

Anyway, it leads me to looking at OBP stats. Out of the 138 players listed on MLB/stats there's one Twin: Correa at .309. I get that there's a min. to making the 138 stat line so it's possible we could have people worthy that just don't have the games/at-bats in ....

hst, Oak has 2, KC 3, Atl 8

With regards to SO I think it'd be more accurate to give the stat in percentages. Schwarber 175so (3rd in MLB) 35%, Gallo 142so (18th in MLB) 50%

He needs to stay healthy. If he does, he's gonna be great.
