Wallner strikes out in a big spot. Does this indicate the 9th slot in the lineup does not agree with him?

Was only there cuz they started a lefty.

I was at Augsburg softbal/alumni game [;)]
Definitely see why they cancelled. it was 92 in the Cities when I left.

Ober >>>>> Joe Ryan

Keuchel went to the IL. Apparently strained a calf in the first inning he pitched last night. Toughed it out and called it a Twins career.

Keuchel is hurt!! YES!

Sorry about that. Just guarantees some things.

I sure hope we don't go through the 1st round and Maeda doesn't pitch significant innings.

My best guess is Ryan will start game 3 (if necessary), and Maeda will come in by the 4th inning or so almost regardless of what Ryan does.

Holy sh!&. I haven't left the house all day. Didn't realize it's 89 degrees in Little Falls!

I agree on Ober (and Maeda), Ed.

Check out the 2023 Twins baseball-reference page and tell me how Joe Ryan should be our #3 starter in the playoffs? Is it his resemblance to Les Straker?

Cork sniffer.

Jeffers finds a way to get thrown out at 2B on a sure double. Terrible slide.

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (10/1/2023 4:14:23 PM)

That said, why aren't we using our 3rd catcher right now?

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (10/1/2023 4:20:26 PM)

There it is. We get the Jays. I'm happy about that. Should be a lot of Jays fans, but that makes for a more exciting environment. I can't wait!

Great job Alcala. [&o]

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (10/1/2023 4:32:04 PM)

Celestino was DFA'd today. I wonder if that means the Twins and Michael A. Taylor have a handshake deal for next season?

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (10/1/2023 5:18:10 PM)

Luplow pitching in a tie game in the 11th. He could be the winning pitcher.

twinsfan -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (10/1/2023 5:18:45 PM)

Nevermind. [&:][&:][&:]

Cork sniffer.

This makes no sense. Does Joe Ryan hate wine?

The man helped us win a division and its not good enough for you. Before that you repeatedly belittled Julien's defense even though he brought consistency to a struggling offense.

Souhan was right about people like you...Cork Sniffer Matt.

We have the 9th best offense and 3rd best pitching staff in the playoffs. Will that translate to victories?

TJSweens -> RE: Twins 2023 Season and Game Day Thread (10/2/2023 10:19:03 AM)

Typical cork sniffer response.

What was the offense before Julien then Wallner and Lewis came in also to fortify?

I read we were in the 20s mid year and 3rd or 4th the 2nd half; (Kepler, Julien, Wallner, Jeffers, and Lewis doing most of the damage).

We were as low as 19th in MLB before Lewis returned and Julien and Wallner were called up. After that point the Twins climbed 9 places to #10. I guess that isn't important to people who are more concerned with the smell of the Sauvignon blanc wafting off their wine cork.

It could also be the same as wanting Arreaz over Lopez I guess or complaining about having a very good pitching staff.

For those not going to the game, I looked up the TV schedule. It's on ESPN.

I'll be meeting up with Dustin for a bit before the game today - probably at Hrbek's. I'll make sure to say hello from all his friends here. GO TWINS!
