No prostitute in the 2nd round either, but Porter Jr. and Levis were the first two picks.

Chris Olson -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 8:34:18 PM)

Hooker gone :(

kgdabom -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 8:35:11 PM)

Hooker at 68 to the Lions.

Chris Olson -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 8:37:41 PM)

probably good, so we can focus defense instead of a flyer on QB

I may have rolled the dice on him at 87, but probably better he's gone.

Detroit went with the Hooker. Hope she has the clap. [;)]

i think SF had three picks still in the 3rd

all compensatory

Chris Olson -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:30:39 PM)

looks like we have at least the last pick of rd 3

haven't seen what else

bgdavis -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:32:12 PM)

traded back to No. 102, the last pick of the third round, and picked up a 5th and a 7th.

Smells like a Spielman move.

Meet the new boss. The same as the old boss.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:33:22 PM)

Last pick of the 3rd (comp) and picked up a 5th.

Chris Olson -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:33:46 PM)

trade tracker says we got 102 (last pick of 3rd) and 164 (5th rd)

Bill Johanesen -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:34:39 PM)

Oh and a 7th, whoo hoo.

Don’t hate it. We only had 5 picks this year. Makes sense to try and get a couple of extra picks, especially when they didn’t have to trade back too far. Spielman would have 9 picks and still trade back just to trade back.

I slept on it and in the fresh light of morning, I'm still underwhelmed with this pick. With all of the glaring needs the Vikings have, they opted to draft their #3 WR. I'm sure some will proclaim him as the #2, but I'm skeptical that he will come in and leapfrog over KJ. I know that there is some sentiment that the receiver pool drops off drastically after Addison, but I would have been fine with not drafting a receiver at all this year.

The kid's interview did nothing to make me feel any better about it. He came off as a smug arrogant dick, who immediately started talking about getting paid.

Corner was a glaring need and Joey Porter Jr slid right into our laps. Big,fast, physical modern corner.

There were both DT and edge rushers who could have provided immediate help.

QBOF is another glaring need as we are probably heading into our final year of Cousins. Levis and Hooker were there. In fact they could have traded back and gotten one of them.

The good news is that some slid through to the second round. Hopefully KAM can find a way into the second and get one.

Often Divas are the best WRs.

Wow, I'm surprised they don't test for it at the combine.

[&:]

Probably do. Just hasn't leaked yet.

I think TJSweens has a defensible position, no WR in the draft, if you're happy with Reagor as WR3. And pretty much any WR later in the draft will only be WR5 competition, based on the impression that the position really thins out fast this year.

I'm slightly more confident with the CB roster, with Murphy/Evans/Booth. But it completely depends on whether Booth can rehab into a less injury prone body, and I have no way to judge right now. But at least later in this draft you can get solid CB3/CB4 prospects. Supposedly a very, very deep year at CB.

No clue at LB, and I have no idea what else Flores wants on defense.

And for what draft sims can tell me, I also saw a lot of Center prospects, many big enough to play guard. Seemed like a deep position group in the sims, and so I wouldn't be surprised to see them pick up a decent C/G prospect. And the draft sims left me with boatloads of RB prospects in the later rounds; so if they trade Cook, they should be able to get a decent RB3 prospect.

They do test for it at the combine. It's called interviews and personality evaluations.

Nailor is a better faster receiver than ****ing reagor . Reagor gets cut.

bstinger -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:37:36 PM)

It's not dumb if they use them well. Spielman rarely did.

stfrank -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:38:22 PM)

So we trade out of the 3rd round where there's a chance of picking up a good player so we can get extra camp fodder in the later rounds. Makes a lot of sense......[&o]

bstinger -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:41:39 PM)

I have to be honest though, they are doing a lot of things I wouldn't have done over the last 2 years. Granted they have way more information than I could ever have, but hopefully they aren't outsmarting themselves.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: 2023 NFL Draft (4/28/2023 9:42:37 PM)

This draft has epic fail written all over it, again.

KAM was a shitty choice for GM.

The defense, which sucked at everything in last season is now picking through scraps.

But by all means get a WR for the deeeeeeepest position on our roster.

FFS

The bears and lions will own us this season.

They didn't trade out of the 3rd round, they traded to the end of the 3rd. 15 picks difference. If any of those 15 guys become a great player you can lay into Queasy & KOC then.

Traded out of a normal 32 pick third round. The 39th spot. More like the 7th pick of the fourth round.
