ORIGINAL: Phil Riewer Been some talks about Luzardo. Twins Daily hearin rumors. Kicking the tires so it looks like they are doing something. Nothing will come of it. Then they will return to twiddling their thumbs The Twins have stated only one off-season objective...cut payroll...I'm sure it will be mission accomplished on that voal. Guess when the Twins made their first moves of the offseason last year? 12/16/22 Minnesota Twins signed free agent C Christian Vázquez. 12/20/22 Minnesota Twins signed free agent LF Joey Gallo. And before that offseason they didn't announce publicly that they are cutting back. And for referense sake we complain about their inactivity EVERY STINKING YEAR. This is essentially par for the course with them. Wait wait wait until only the flotsam and jetsam remain then hope hope hope to catch lightning in a bottle or hope some freak occurance happens and we land a big name late. Last offseason we were assuming that Carlos Correa would not be back....by a freak occurance he returned. They made a trade that Brad H couldn't handle all year long and got a great pitcher out of the deal...but they didn't lose anything significant before that other than "losing" Correa. This year, we lost Sonny Gray. We've parted ways with Kenta Maeda as well. The only good thing to happen so far this offseason is Emilio Pagan opted to sign elsewhere. I want to see this team TRY to improve from the start by pursuing and actually signing a BIG name, making a trade for a BIG name. I am tired of same old, same old. Make a ****ing splash for once.
