I'm pretty sure Ant purposely got to 16 technical fouls last night so the suspension can be vs an awful Utah team.

Well that certainly backfired. Would have made a lot more sense to get suspended for a game they were expected to lose anyway.

His first game back he scored 44. Yes it's a safe bet his presence against Utah would be worth a 2 point swing.

It’s nice to beat up on some teams you’re supposed to beat up. A reminder that even though this year isn’t as good as last, at least we’re not one of those bottom feeders.

Possibly unpopular opinion. I’m glad Randle is back. If the Wolves are going anywhere this year (likely not but you get my point) it will depend greatly on Randle’s effectiveness. When he’s being good, like he was last night, it’s not always pretty but he brings a toughness that they need.

I just have to hope and trust that Finch can figure out how to keep him going nd not regress to how he played earlier in the year. I’m indifferent as to whether they keep Randle around long term, but as long as he’s here, get something out of him.

Record-wise, the Wolves aren't as good. And they're not as dominant on defense. But they're a deeper team and they have greater flexibility on how they play. That should mean they're in a better position to dictate the style of play, forcing the other team to adapt.

But none of that will matter much if they continue to be inconsistent.

Best part is that Jayden has taken to scoring when needed, Randle seems in more unison with everyone, and Naz and the young pups are getting more run.

Will they be better in the playoffs? Matters if Rudy is Rudy 2024 after some rest.

If nothing else, Randle's return keeps Garza off the floor. Luka is much better suited to the role of human victory cigar.

Ant, Jayden, Naz, Randle, and Donte....more offense than before IMO and with Clark/Shannon. I do like the offense better and plenty of wing defense now. Probably need a healthy Rudy to make a serious run---which may be why they are giving him rest now to get closer to 100%.

Elliot -> RE: Timberwolves 2024/2025 Season (3/7/2025 10:37:07 AM)

If the Wolves can gain some consistency (big if), they're going to be dangerous in the post-season because they'll be able to play a lot of different ways effectively. Big/small, slow/fast. Lot's more depth than last year.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Timberwolves 2024/2025 Season (3/13/2025 8:46:03 AM)

That win looked easy. At Denver. Wolves never trailed, and breezed to a win. Denver looked tired.

The schedule remains easy for the Wolves. 5 home games in a row next, they’ll be favored in each one. Too bad GS is streaking too. Got to get that 6 spot at least.

Wolves are 11-0 in Randle's last 11 games (6-0 since return from injury in March, 5-0 pre injury in January). +12.8 net rating during this streak.

He was finally meshing his game with the Wolves before his injury. I was worried he would lose that being out so long. It looks like Randle is making much quicker decisions now. I only saw him go into back down mode a couple of times and he passed out of it quickly both times. I've given him a lot of crap all year, but I have to admit he is playing real well right now.

Rumor is his shoulder wasn't quite right early in the season yet....now he is fully healthy.

I think it has a lot more to do with the way he is playing than possible shoulder pain.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Timberwolves 2024/2025 Season (3/14/2025 11:43:34 AM)

Randle is starting to show why Finch liked him ever since Finch coached him at New Orleans. Finch’s stamp of approval meant a lot to me, though it was a test of faith through the early season.

Things are starting to mesh. Finch said in a recent interview on KFAN that it was too much ‘your turn, my turn’ offense early on instead of truly having some chemistry. I remember thinking exactly the same thing. Now it seems like nobody is counting shots any more. Just playing to win.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Timberwolves 2024/2025 Season (3/16/2025 11:32:53 PM)

8 in a row and we can't move up in the standings. Would Golden State lose a God damn game please?

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Timberwolves 2024/2025 Season (3/17/2025 9:35:36 AM)

Ant just passed Wiggins for #3 on all time Wolves scoring list. Still a few years away from passing KAT, and miles away from KG.

And a footnote. Naz Reid is #10. Good for Naz, but man, that's more an indictment on the Wolves shitty history right there.

Edit: Correction. Naz is 11. Someone on Reddit posted a list that omitted Sam Mitchell.

The shocking thing is Sam Mitchell is still 2nd all-time in games played for the Wolves with only 757.

Naz is the active leader with 394.

Sam is still 3rd in minutes, 5th in points, 5th in rebounds, 6th in steals

Edwards is the 10th all time franchise rebounder.

A 23 year old guard. [sm=icon_neutral.gif]

Every time of getting excited about this team again they drop a couple of bad ones like the last two.

Reid and DiVincenzo suspended for a game for the Pistons fight.

This seems about right. Any fight is going to result in suspension but this was just a whole lot of nothing. Trash talk and tempers flaring and shoving.

The only reason I feared it might be more is the fight spilled into the stands. That's a bad situation because if a fan would have been injured they would have been in deep shit, so I thought the league may come down harder for that reason. Thankfully they didn't.

After years long battle, Glen Taylor and Marc Lore-Alex Rodriguez have agreed to complete full ownership to Lore-Rodriguez, sources tell ESPN. Taylor will not appeal Minnesota arbitrators that ruled in favor of Lore-Rodriguez in February. NBA will start transfer process.
