here's a question for everyone: if you had to choose, cousins or rodgers?

You sure bring him up a lot.

And that's a false choice. There is no reason you'd have to pick either.

I bring him up because I'm fairly certain this is how our front office is thinking...the possibility of obtaining cousins for $10-12mm/yr as our qb#2 is too tempting....

i'd pick rodgers, at least he's been there...rodgers could be contentious, but cousins lacks the heart....

The front office moved on from Cousins when they let him walk. You should too.

Kirk Cousins just doesn't have "IT". He doesn't remember after more than a dozen years on the league that you need to spike the ball to stop the clock late in the game. When his team is down and needing his play to elevate, it doesn't. I don't want him back at any price.

David Levine -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/5/2025 2:41:35 PM)

Aaron Rodgers has finally picked a new home. After a long public flirtation, the four-time MVP quarterback plans to sign a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, league sources told The Athletic on Thursday, joining his third NFL team. Rodgers is expected to attend mandatory minicamp next week.

I feel sorry for Steeler fans.

Ive always rooted for the over-the-hill players going back to Namath, Borg, Montana etc. They never find the old magic

Kirk's game situational awareness (is that a real term?) is astoundingly low. Behind by 10 with forty seconds left in the 2nd quarter? - checks down on 3rd-and-8 from our own 40. 4th-and-goal from inside the red zone? - Throws it out the back of the endzone. Defense starting to cheat closer to the line of scrimmage after multiple short pass plays? - Still hands it off instead of audibling into a deep throw and then tossing it deep regardless of how open the pass catcher is because gosh frick we need to take what they're offering and make them pay. That last example might have had some of my own emotion creep in...

Rogers vs Cousins? That’s like arguing for jellyfish or spam jelly on your next sandwich.

No offense, but I thank God for plucking that debate right out of your hands.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/8/2025 5:18:22 PM)

It the offseason .. Kirk and Erin cucks have to have responses to the one brain cell, fantasy football dreams..

Erin is an ex pack, over the hill psychologically unstable egocentric princess Diva,,,

What kind of team you think “ fits” that?

Not the Vikings.

cousins has sucked his entire career at performing under pressure or when the game is on the line..

Only a fool wants to re- Brad- visit that idiocy..

So my answer is .. unless the offer to pay the Vikings, for a third string clip board holder roster spot..

Neither one should ever be a Viking…. Ever or ever again..

Why can’t people let shit go?

“buT cOuSiNs WoN 14…..”

Shut…. The.. ****… up….

The Pukers are going to release Jaire Alexander. Anyone interested in an injury prone, malcontent CB?

When he's healthy he's pretty damn good at CB. The biggest problem the last few years is that he hasn't been healthy,.

We all know that doesn't scare KAM. It didn't scare him on Jeff Okudah.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's a Viking by the end of the week.

He's missed 32 games in the last 4 years. That might be too much injury history for even Kwesi.

You may be right. But I still wont be surprised. they've probably been just biting their tongues and sitting on their hands waiting for the release they knew would come.

They wont pay him top dollar...but I will not be the least bit surprised if he's a viking.

Chris Olson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/9/2025 8:00:06 PM)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Alexander become a Viking...

Kwesi gets him on a relatively cheap contract, and he gets some revenge on the Pack...

Not sure how healthy he is at present, that is some awful injury history

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/10/2025 8:07:52 AM)

Kevin Seifert was on Barreiro yesterday and he said re Jair Alexander. He didn't think the Vikings have much interest for two reasons.

1. The injury history is a bit TOO extensive, he's missed too many games. Over the last four years he's only played in about half of the Packers games.
2. Culture is very important here in Minnesota and in the Vikings lockerroom and Alexander has a tendency to be very disruptive.

They also speculated there may be bad blood between him and JJ...but Said that likely would be resolved pretty quickly if they did sign Alexander.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/10/2025 9:42:30 AM)

I'm actually surprised they haven't made a move on Samuel Jr. I thought that was their end game with having all the cap we still have.

Missed most of the 2024 season due to a shoulder injury that worsened a pre-existing condition.

He underwent neck surgery in April and is expected to have a check-up in July to determine his future plans for the 2025 season. He is not expected to sign a contract before the July check-up.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/10/2025 12:52:40 PM)

Thanks, makes sense I guess then. I knew he was injured. I didn't think his recovery would be this long. CB (besides backup QB) is the only position that has me a bit nervous about.

Agree, but LG is still an unknown. At least it has been addressed, and it would be strange to bring in someone else. Not so with CB and backup QB. Both positions can stand a talent influx.

Don't know who the regime thinks are legit free agents nor what they have tried, if anything. Howell was acquired via trade, but it wasn't much of one in the big scheme of things (#142 for Howell and #172).

Chris Olson -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/10/2025 7:06:45 PM)

with the talk from OTA's, Brosmer is gonna be the #2 by training camp, so we don't even need another QB[&:]

But cb needs at least another body, if not one of the top tier injured guys (Alexander and Samuel)

Or, as David said a while back, we may be just waiting for the Dolphins to cut Ramsey...

but he will still want a significant paycheck, while the injured guys should be cheaper

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talk (6/11/2025 7:22:29 AM)

By the end of camp the QB room will be:
1 JJM
2 Sam Howell
3 Brosmer.

Bye bye Rypien

If McCarthy ends up being a bust, that could be the worst three-deep chart in the history of football.

The only other option is JJM, Howell, Rypien.

Start holding your breath.

The QB Guru KOC has faith in JJM. He is the biggest question mark this season, but if they had that much faith that they didn't pursue some other option like Rodgers...well then they must feel pretty good about him.
