I also didn't like the offsides called on Grenard, he just got a very good jump on that snap. I think the commentators were wrong on that one, it appeared to me that he hadn't crossed the line of scrimmage, just timed it perfectly. Maybe someone with a recording can check on that.

I still believe McCarthy has the it factor, it's just a matter of putting things together around him. I blame this loss on bad play calling, McCarthy distracted with having a baby, injuries, Bijon's talent, Penix getting the ball out quickly (avenging his loss to McCarthy, and Atlanta bouncing back after a close loss last week), and the horrible holding call after Mason was on the verge of getting the Vikings right back into the game with a long run.

Darnold played pretty well in his 1st 2 games with the Jets, better than I expected. Darnold would have been expensive, and will likely not get you anywhere in the playoffs, I don't think he has the it factor. The Vikings won a lot of regular season games with Kirk Cousins, but he will not get you anywhere in the playoffs, and costs too much. I think McCarthy has the it factor, and it's a matter of putting the right things in place behind him, and maybe some luck as well.
