Love will be a renewed MVP candidate based on playing against Dallas.

Jerry Jones has hoodwinked that fanbase for years. Or they are idiots.

Yes

JJ getting his first chance with the Giants.

1-4, 19 yards, 1 INT. 1 carry for -2 yards.

Finished 11/21, 243 yards, 1 td, 1 int, 1 sack, 26 rushing yards

Almost pulled off an amazing comeback.

Terrible stats although they indicate some deep passes. Didn't watch the game.

He looked good. He was fortunate on one deep pass that was bobbled and caught that could have been picked. He was zinging the ball around though and the final pass to tie the game was there, albeit in triple coverage. Though he missed Nabers who came open down the middle. 243 yds in basically 10 mins is still impressive.

Yes that is a lot of yards for less than a quarter. Were the Saints in a prevent D?

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/19/2026 6:29:27 AM)

Saints were (are?) tied for the worst defense points wise with Arizona at 178.

Giants could win the division with all the other teams seeming to fall apart.

Could Brez do some cap magic should the Vikings trade for RB Jonathan Taylor?

I wouldn't....he faded in the 2nd half the last 2 years. 400 yards and 3 TDs last 7 games last year as an example.

We could get that same production from Mason and Jones.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/19/2026 9:55:14 AM)

Maybe he would fade less if on a team that also has a good defense, some great WRs, and a RB that he can share the load with, and a QB that might turn out to be more clutch than Danny Dimes... 🤔

So you want to spend....10 million on Jones, 5.6 million on Mason, and another 7 Million on Taylor?

It would cost the Colts 10 million in dead cap so not sure if it is even plausible on their end.

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/19/2026 11:03:08 AM)

Couple of things happening in the NFL:
Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
·
1h
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs, has been undergoing tests for days.
Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept.

Adam Schefter
@AdamSchefter
·

Colts relieved Chris Ballard of his duties as General Manager.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/19/2026 11:17:57 AM)

I would want the Vikings to give it a shot with Taylor and Jones as a combo.

I would want the Vikings to win a Super Bowl with that combo.

Brez would have to do some contract magic, the Colts would probably have to do like the Cards and take a big hit this year, but then not be obligated with him after this season.

So Taylor is almost 28....Id rather draft one.

For me....TE Goeddert or S Antoine Winfield.

Yes, they were in a prevent and their offensive line did a good job of giving JJM time to pass. Bought a subscription to NFL+ for $15 so was able to watch the last part of the Giants game plus review some of the Vikes games during bye week. JJM looked like a solid QB2 with a gunslinger style that reminded me a little of Brett Favre. Will be interesting to see how he does if the Giants give him the start this weekend.

Thanks. Yeah I'm on the NFL+ monthly subscription, just not that interested in seeing him.

Too late to draft a stud like Taylor for this year's team.

Taylor would have 10x the impact of Goedert or Winfield.

If Indy is in sell mode, don't go after Taylor.

Go after one of these 3.

DT Buckner
LG Nelson
S Bynum

We aren’t getting him in the first 7-8 games when he is fresh. Look back on the last 2-3 years. I gave you last years numbers.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/19/2026 10:51:09 PM)

Yes, last year's numbers for Taylor, without a good RB like Jones to share some carries, without great WRs like the Vikings have, without a defense that would help him more (getting the ball more, trailing less often, more often in the lead), and the Vikings special teams have also been great.

I have a feeling they will sign Nelson, which should help, and I would also be happy with having Bynum back.

Taylor would be the best, and most impactful signing, but I don't think it will happen. I think Taylor would be amazing for the Vikings, my only concern would be that he might fumble at the wrong time.

Richard Neussendorfer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/20/2026 9:25:25 AM)

Taylor's numbers dropped off a cliff when their qb got hurt. Teams were stacking the box. He's only 27. I'm not advocating we get him or anything. I personally think the cost would be too high financially and draft wise.

Maybe you haven't looked....he has over 300 carries the last 2 years.

AP did it once in his career when he was 23 and 24.

So what? Emmitt had 300 carries plus a lot. I'm not sure the point. Again I'm really not in favor of losing draft capital and finances to get his services.

RB almost always get hurt after a year like that.....AP was one of the few that could handle 300 plus 2 years in a row. McCaffery would always get hurt after a 300+
year.

Saquan Barkley had 345 carries 2 years ago and look at what he has done last year and this year.

Thats a fair point if you think he's going to be hurt soon. If we make a move with the Colts I think I'd rather see us get Nelson.

Might be a tough lift to pull off.

It doesn't mean Taylor can't make it thru this year but he would be one of a very few with over 300 carries 3 years in a row. McCaffery gets a ton of touches as a receiver also so he isn't quite the same.

Emmitt had 1050 carries over 3 years.....yeah that is the most I have seen. He is one of the few it didn't affect.

If they were to get him i would hope they'd still split carries with Mason and some occasional Jones touches. I worry more about the Oline depth. Would love a good option there.
