ORIGINAL: JT2 I'm biased, but what a beautiful sport. A whole bunch of Cats (pun intended) that will never play professional basketball, come together as a team and experience something they will never forget. Not just the trophy, the process. Great Nova team. Great for Jay Wright. He certainly paid his dues. He's been a great coach for a minute, now he will get the love he deserved for a long time. No Calipari, no Self, no Krzyzewski, no Pitino. Yet somehow we all survive. This was beautiful tonight. College basketball, and sport, at it's best. Full disclosure, I had NC winning the championship in every bracket I played. Great post, Pete. In spite of our repeated local failures, tonight reminded me (once again) the reasons I love sports and have continued to follow even absent of having a true rooting interest most of the time. The unscripted theatre and the back stories of athletes overcoming and persevering...you just can't beat it. Congrats to the Cats. Have a buddy from the Philly area who's still hyperventilating into a paper bag...but fun to see. 31 years is a long time to wait, as we know too well around these parts. Thank you, and right back at ya, especially on the above first two sentences.
