I'm biased, but what a beautiful sport. A whole bunch of Cats (pun intended) that will never play professional basketball, come together as a team and experience something they will never forget. Not just the trophy, the process. Great Nova team. Great for Jay Wright. He certainly paid his dues. He's been a great coach for a minute, now he will get the love he deserved for a long time. No Calipari, no Self, no Krzyzewski, no Pitino. Yet somehow we all survive. This was beautiful tonight. College basketball, and sport, at it's best. Full disclosure, I had NC winning the championship in every bracket I played.

In spite of our repeated local failures, tonight reminded me (once again) the reasons I love sports and have continued to follow even absent of having a true rooting interest most of the time. The unscripted theatre and the back stories of athletes overcoming and persevering...you just can't beat it. Congrats to the Cats. Have a buddy from the Philly area who's still hyperventilating into a paper bag...but fun to see. 31 years is a long time to wait, as we know too well around these parts.

Started my usual bitching about how the rich get richer. And a minute later, I'm euphoric over a selfless team refusing to lose. Archi the senior could have easily said "I'm gonna be a hero here" but instead set up a better shot for a teammate.

The game tying shot was absolutely sick. UNC made an amazing comeback, but in the end the better team won.

My 2nd favorite college hoops team Cal is taking on SE Louisiana on Pac 12 Network. Doesn't look like it will be much of a challenge. Cal leads 9-1 in the early going.
