I saw a girl riding a motorized cart in Hy Vee today, and I'm thinking, Damn girl, go on a diet! -- but I also realized the only time I've ever watched my weight was during a starvation wrestling diet - so what the F do I know?

Good job, TM!

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (6/11/2016 10:40:30 AM)

From 300+ to 225.

The last shirt is nothing special but I've had it a LONG time and I don't ever remember it fitting. I put it away promising to wear it some day. At times during the weight loss I was surprised how far away it was away from fitting me. It fits now.

Wow!

The 1st and 3rd pictures don't even look like the same person!

I'm in awe.

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (6/11/2016 2:50:37 PM)

Totally awesome. You could be the next Jared (without the, ahem, disgusting side issues) by promoting yourself to some company that makes one of the products you've been eating. I hear "millionaire" as your next self-describing adjective.

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (6/11/2016 4:16:25 PM)

I finally found a picture right before I started my diet. The Christmas prior. Started diet the Feb following...

(edit - I was told it was the xmas before...but I'm wearing shorts and short sleeves...it's more recent than the other one I'm sure...and I like the contrast of these two better)

Yes, I'm the worst photo editor in the world. Ricky could do better. [&:]

I would love that cleaned up. Terry Stoneberg where are you when I need you?!

Speaking of Christmas, you won't be able to play Santa Claus anymore.

Well done brother!

You should be extremely proud of yourself. Just look at the difficult task you accomplished in such a short time. You can conquer any obstacle you encounter.

I couldn't be happier for you.

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/12/2016 8:47:45 AM)

Happy Day Dan!

I hope your daughter is still keeping you young at heart. [:D]

Ricky J -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/12/2016 9:04:42 AM)

Happy Birthday, Dan

Ricky J -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/20/2016 12:38:34 PM)

Anyone remember this pic when it first came out? Hint, it was a very painful day. I ran across it looking for pics.

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/20/2016 12:41:25 PM)

Come on man! I come here looking for upbeat stuff. Unfortunately there are too many possibilities of when that photo could have been taken, and I don't want to remember any of them.

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/20/2016 12:42:45 PM)

(But good job on learning how to post pictures.)

Ricky J -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/20/2016 12:50:50 PM)

Im not sure I've learned anything. Today was a bitch! Imgur wasn't all I thought it was and I had to look around. DL captured me perfectly in a drawing in "Questions"

The pic above had an impression on me at the time, obviously.

Todd M -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/28/2016 8:52:11 AM)

I sort of missed a day last week and just ran with it.

quote:

When is it OK to stop taking metformin?
Metformin is an important part of an effective diabetes treatment plan. Reducing the dosage of metformin or stopping it altogether is safe in some cases. You may be able to stop taking metformin if the following occurs when taking low doses of the medication or no doses at all:

Your hemoglobin A1C is less than 7 percent.
Your fasting morning blood glucose is under 130 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL)
Your random or postprandial (after-meal) blood glucose level is below 180 mg/dL.

My A1C is between 5 and 5.5 (it was 5.9 3 months ago and I guarantee it's gone down - test in two weeks to confirm)
Fasting, this week without meds avg 91.8
Both after meal tests yesterday we 91.8.

Now that criteria, along with the ADA's criteria, and most you will find - are generous. But even so...

People can call it what they want, or deny what it is. I call this remission. Have to keep it up for a year before it's considered 'complete'. But I'm in the game!

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes water cooler thread (7/28/2016 11:14:31 AM)

Happy birthday Karl!

You can't get much wiser anymore, so you must just be getting older.

Ba dum dum!

Thanks. I hardly ever look at this thread. I must have instinctively known there was a message from you here.

I guess the bulk of people are [sm=yawn.gif] oh, he only sent his diabetes into remission in 6 months, see it all the time...
