You know, don't you …..

Coyle scores with a minute left, becomes the talk of hockey
They erect statues and shit

The Big Papi of hockey

You mean he started juicing and blamed coaching in Minnesota for earlier lack of production?

Seriously, game 7 between the Blues and Bruins in Boston seems like a perfect time and place for a meteor strike.

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/10/2019 10:40:43 AM)

I was thinking more …

Gets shot later in a bar ….

Too soon?

Bruce Johnson -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/12/2019 9:35:10 PM)

Boston is overdue for a bit of game seven disappointment. I hope there is a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth in Bean Town. Jealous? Yeah.

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/13/2019 8:42:59 AM)

Actually kinda enjoyed the Blues celebration.
Its a great story
Why never here?

Kept thinking this last night … if you walk into a room and are offered their roster, or the Wild roster, not sure I take theirs.
Right now, yeah of course, they proved themselves to be winners when it mattered
Crazy run really. We'll hear about it forever.
They play such a simple style. I've been preaching the things they do for decades, and it seemed to work for them.
Stay inside. Get pucks out. Use the blue line. Flip pucks into neutral and let your 1 or 2 elite players skate themselves into opportunities.
They took the simplest route to the Cup. And it worked.
They were the worst team in hockey for quite awhile last year, and could go right back to it. Its a fickle sport.

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/13/2019 8:45:24 AM)

Somewhere, I hope that rat bastard Marchand is hurting. Bad.
Someone like him should never win a Cup.
Sad that he has.

MDK -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/13/2019 8:51:04 AM)

Great win for the city.....they have waited a long time for this.

Can we, a place where youth hockey is king, can ever get a cup?

Instead, all these southern cities with displaced weeny northerners who can't stand the cold get cups.

MDK -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/13/2019 8:53:01 AM)

I don't want Boston to win anything. Worst fans regardless of the sport.

At least the theme song for the Bruins is "Dirty Water," and appropriate and great Boston song instead of those weeeny Sox fans whose song is Sweet Caroline.

I hate the RedSox fans....especially for their treatment of Jimmy Eisenreich.

We had a power outage last night that lasted from 7:00 to 10:45. And I don't feel like I really missed anything. I found out who won when my alarm clock went off. But, I can't wait for the upcoming season to start!

TJSweens -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/13/2019 11:14:01 AM)

Thankfully nobody was subjected to The Invisible Man hoisting the cup.

I'd swap starting goalies with them.

Joe ..……… are you guys acquiring defensemen, or …. vowels?

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Blackhawks made another trade for a veteran defenseman on Monday, acquiring Calvin de Haan in a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Blackhawks also received minor league forward Aleksi Saarela in exchange for defenseman Gustav Forsling and goaltender Anton Forsberg.
Chicago has been looking to upgrade its blue line since it missed the playoffs last season for the second straight year. It acquired Olli Maatta in a trade with Pittsburgh on June 15.
The addition of de Haan and Maatta raises questions about what the Blackhawks might do with the rest of their defensemen. They also have Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Connor Murphy, Erik Gustafsson, Carl Dahlstrom and Slater Koekkoek on their roster, and Henri Jokiharju could take on a prominent role after finishing last season in the minors.

Better tell the uniform and locker room staff there to get some damn A's ordered, immediately.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/26/2019 2:46:49 PM)

Luongo retiring. Did anyone know he was still playing [:-]

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/26/2019 3:19:20 PM)

19 seasons
That's a ton of rubber

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/26/2019 4:01:34 PM)

Even in our heated years with the Nucks, I never had a problem with him.

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL Talk (6/26/2019 7:20:34 PM)

Sane here.
Good dude.

HA! That's a fact about ordering more "a's". I liked Forsling last year, once he got his legs under him. Maaaaatta looks like he might fit in somewhere on the line. Don't be surprised if one of the big two find a new home in the next year or so.

I was a huge fan of his game. He had a ton of weight on his shoulders when he came into the league, and he handled it better than most guys.

joejitsu -> RE: General NHL Talk (7/2/2019 8:11:12 AM)

I think the signing of Lehner could mean the exit of Crawford. Lehner played very strong the second half of the season last year, and Corey couldn't stay healthy. Maybe those concussions are really starting to add up for him?

I'm trying to figure out other active players that debuted in the 90s.

Zdeno Chara

twinsfan -> RE: General NHL Talk (7/2/2019 1:46:15 PM)

Matt Cullen
