Yesterday h NHL presented a new proposal to players. No meeting scheduled. I read they need to get deal done by Jan 5-6 to have 48 game season.

Heard it's looking good.

Lucky for you guys and Cossetta's.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General NHL (12/31/2012 12:51:47 PM)

They'll get together today and it'll look something like this:

PA - "give us everything"

Owners - "nope"

Owners - "bow down to the row"

PA - "nope"

Owners and PA - "FU"

Moments later ESPN will report on a grueling day of talks with no progress made.

I would love to hear an official report on how much their earnings have dropped because of this. That place is packed on gameday. I've never been on a non-game day so I don't have a good comparison.

I've been there on many non-game days. It depends on time of the day, of course, and I usually try to avoid "prime eating time"....so maybe this isn't the greatest report either....but I'd say the average wait time in line is about 1-2 minutes when I'm there. A few times I've waited maybe 5 minutes. Always been able to find a seat. I've heard on gamedays you can't even find a seat. Or worse yet, you have to share a table with strangers. [:-]

F*** Cossetta's. Red's Savoy Inn is the place to go for pre or post game pizza.

Never even heard of RSI. I'll have to check it out next time. Cossetta's has just been a game day tradition. Not sure why or how.

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL (12/31/2012 1:24:16 PM)

Loving the World Juniors as usual
Two tough losses for us, but I really like our team.
Good job for Housley.
Love that level. All future studs. Riley looks great.

It's been on the corner of 7th St and 35E for decades. Best pizza in the twin cities hands down.

But not particularly close to the X.

Went there once and I do approve of the pizza. Also enjoy watching your car on all the TVs.

TJSweens -> RE: General NHL (12/31/2012 1:57:57 PM)

You got over the pizza not being cut in triangles eh? You're right it isn't as close as a lot of eateries, but it isn't that far either. It really is a tribute to the pizza that people brave that shitty parking lot to eat there.

They cut it special for me. I asked nicely.

Jim Frenette -> RE: General NHL (12/31/2012 3:52:10 PM)

I was talking to my brother today about negotiations and remembered they were also suppose to get new division changes made and yet nothing on that has been mentioned yet.

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 9:28:10 AM)

Wow, both sides met for a grueling 30 minutes yesterday.
Warriors.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 9:46:48 AM)

you ever try to negotiate with a hangover and a stripper in your lap? [:D]

Mr. Ed -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 2:09:44 PM)

See there are internal discussions to up the playoff qualifiers to 20 teams this year.

IF they end the lockout.

Sounds quite bizarre. 20 teams in the playoffs.

Jim Frenette -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 3:15:17 PM)

It seems that this time they are exchanging offers and not running away upset. They're staying around and countering

Lynn G. -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 3:17:31 PM)

If they play this short of a season would they still award a Stanley Cup winner? I've been wanting to see my guys get one for years, but getting one in such a short year would feel a little cheap.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 4:06:38 PM)

Yeah, it'll be business as usual minus the 82 game schedule.

Total panic move, meant to recoup lost salary thru playoff bonuses.

SoMnFan -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 5:36:40 PM)

Potulney and Housley look great on that USA bench

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 6:17:31 PM)

Yeap, it looks like Potulney could be an NHL guy in the not to distant future. He's certainly being groomed.

Jim Frenette -> RE: General NHL (1/2/2013 6:29:11 PM)

Got my DVR set to rec the USA/Canada game tomorrow at 3AM. Hope for better result
