Emily Fox isn't having a good Senior year either.

The way the team was shooting, you'd think they were on the road. Teams should always shhot better at their own gym

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (2/13/2009 11:23:45 AM)

Emily Fox's production has fallen off the face of the Earth right now.  This has gone way way past a shooting slump.

Matt Dahl -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (2/13/2009 11:47:45 AM)

Off-the-court issues??

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/22/2009 9:15:49 PM)

Nice to see the Gopher women go onto NDs home-court and beat them today to start the NCAAs.
Ridiculous advantage, glad they took it to them.

Katie Ohm big game and Emily Fox had a great game controling it

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/23/2009 11:21:49 AM)

Ohm's shooting turned back a pretty good ND push. Harper probably played the best game of her career. Now let's see an even bigger upset of Texas A&M and a trip to the Sweet 16, followed by a commitment from Taylor Hill.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/24/2009 9:00:27 PM)

Yikes!
Reality set in tonight .... 30 pt smackdown.

Jim Frenette -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/25/2009 9:36:07 AM)

A&M have some shooters. Good offensive team. Gophers made way to many turnovers also putting themselves in a huge hole

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (4/16/2009 9:50:39 PM)

Taylor Hill goes to Ohio State. Worst possible outcome for the Gophers.

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (11/16/2009 9:54:09 AM)

Looks like Kiara Buford is ready to step in and fill the scoring void at guard. I think over the next three years she will be a decided step up from Emily Fox.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (11/19/2009 11:32:21 AM)

Not sure if you've heard this Tim and others ... horrible news regarding Steph Bolden (sister of former Gopher Shannon from Marshall).
She lost her husband in a construction accident near SFalls. She is preganant with the couples first child.
Just horrible news for a great family. I believe Steph played college ball in SD. Was going to ask last week if any of you knew where Shannon is and if she stayed in basketball.

Mr. Ed -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (11/19/2009 2:53:26 PM)

Scott, I'd guess this is Shannon:   http://www.facebook.com/people/Shannon-Bolden-Nelson/13914565

Listed in Grand Forks,and Shannon Bolden Nelson

Jim Frenette -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (2/8/2010 11:15:01 AM)

The ladies got killed yesterday. Not one player hit double figures. Is Pam Borton on a short leash?

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (2/8/2010 11:43:31 AM)

I hope so. This team has never recovered from the mass exodus a few years ago. Granted it was not all of her fault, but she lost some good players as a result. Her teams have no concept of half court offense.

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/4/2010 4:22:46 PM)

The women's season ends with a resounding THUD in the first round. What an incredibly disappointing team. The seniors brought nothing to the table this year.

I think a lot of players quit on the team

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/4/2010 4:44:29 PM)

Some of them never showed up.

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/19/2010 8:18:36 AM)

After watching the Lakeville North game last night, I couldn’t help but notice that yet another top in state senior, Cassie Rochelle 6-4 athletic center, has slipped through Borton’s fingers to another Big Ten program (Wisconsin). She joins Taylor Hill (Ohio State) and 4 time All Big Ten forward Jenna Smith (Illinois). This doesn’t count players like Angel Robinson, Amy Beggin and others who have led their teams in scoring and assists and earned all conference honors in other conferences.

The good news is that junior PG, Rachel Banham is even better than Rochelle and has already committed to the Gophers. Now if Borton survives that long.

But some kids just want to get out of the house. I joined the AF 9 days after graduation and started the plans while a Jr in high school

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (3/19/2010 11:16:31 AM)

Some kids Jim. Not every kid.

Jim Frenette -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (12/31/2010 10:09:29 AM)

It was painful watching the ladies Gophers last night. What has happened to this team. Borton came in with Lindsay and others on them and really hasn't recruited much herself

Last year I kept seeing Voigt shoot from beyond the arc and not once last night

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Womens) (1/6/2011 11:53:29 AM)

Another game another loss. Pam Borton needs to go. After early success with Cheryl Littlejohn's players the program is sinking back to the level it was before Lindsey Whalen brought it to life.

Amen

This just keeps getting worse. I hope Rachel Banham has already signed her tender.
