How long is Lindsay Whalen's lifeline? She hasn't exactly shone as a coach. Not all great players make good coaches.
Very few great players make great coaches. It's usually the people that had to scratch and claw just to make the bottom of a roster (if that) that end up as the best coaches.
Lindsay is different.
You're saying she's a great coach?
I'm saying she's a hard worker. She became one of the greatest players of all-time because of hard work. She lacked natural talent.

Whalen is an incredibly gifted athlete. She's very strong, very fast, unbelievably coordinated. Fantastic start/stop and lateral agility. And that's just the physical abilities. She also possesses mental abilities that are just as much an innate talent as being able to run fast or jump high. Court vision, anticipation, split second decision making, etc.
And no great player became a great player without a ton of hard work.
Great talent + hard work = great player.
Great talent + not putting in the work = washout.
Less talent + hard work = fringe player at best.
