Tim did you see my Alma Mater St Cloud Tech? I hear they have a very good team this year and I haven't found a score from that game, not even in the St Cloud paper

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/4/2009 2:43:56 PM)

No that was the last game. We left after Cooper / Eden Prairie.

Thanks. I think they are 4th in state

In the past couple of years they televised those games. I'm disappointed they didn't this year

I am disappointed at the level of the competition from other states this year.

Agreed.

BTW, Tech won by about 30

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/5/2009 11:29:11 AM)

And that wasn't even close to the most lop sided game.

Matt Dahl -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/8/2009 7:50:42 PM)

Busch taking important shots at the end of a game......not good.  Need to get the ball to the big guys.

Matt Dahl -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/8/2009 7:53:09 PM)

Reverse psychology. [;)]

Matt Dahl -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/8/2009 8:01:05 PM)

This is a struggle.  Busch from hero to goat.  Crappy inbounds pass cost us dearly.

David Levine -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/8/2009 8:16:22 PM)

Not a well played game at all, but its a Big 10 road win.

Steve Lentz -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/8/2009 11:10:15 PM)

Tubby's men do it on the road. Iowa's first loss there?

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/9/2009 8:31:56 AM)

Ok, I'm starting to believe now.
We've had trouble winning in Iowa City when we had REAL teams.
We're getting ther.

Jim Frenette -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/9/2009 9:55:11 AM)

For such a young team going into hostile arena and leaving with a win after being down by 13 is huge for the program. Great work guys. I'm sure as they get more experience they will make more shots on the road

Jeff Jesser -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/9/2009 10:25:46 AM)

It's funny to watch the progression of this team.  Can you imagine what Monson's boys would have done after 1/2 time?  [:-]

it's almost like Tubby understands the concept of adjustments [:D]

Lynn G. -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/9/2009 11:47:16 AM)

He's bonafide!

(You'd have to have seen "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" to think that line is funny).

Probably because he is a 53% shooter (55% on 3pt). He also plays pretty good defense and is a smart player. I really don't get your disdain for Busch. He is a solid role player and until a legit go to scoring option emerges, guys like Busch, Abu-Shamala and Hoffbarber are going to get a fair amount of clock and be on the floor in crucial situations when they have the hot hand.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/9/2009 11:56:35 AM)

I don't mind Busch either.  The only thing is that after he makes a couple of shots his confidence starts to go up and then he has a play or 2 that he tries to do too much.  I'll take that with the shots he made yesterday though.  That 3 he hit was critical.

David Levine -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/9/2009 12:42:32 PM)

Tremendous defense in the 2nd half as well. Tubby went "small" and I think we held them scoreless for 12 minutes.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/9/2009 12:47:13 PM)

Yeap and I forgot to mention it but D Johnson is becoming a beast on the D side of the ball.  I love his game.

Jim Frenette -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/10/2009 9:55:17 AM)

I was set to watch the Tubby show on FSN and was in for an awaking right off. Telly Hughs is hosting it. I switched immediately

TJSweens -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/10/2009 10:58:56 AM)

Not a Telly-Tubby fan?  [&:]

David Levine -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/11/2009 4:37:36 PM)

Very nice beat down today. We're just relentless on defense.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/11/2009 4:42:48 PM)

Fill me in DL. Missed it. PSU right?

Yup. Won by 20. And it wasn't that close.

9-9 from 3 as a team, lots of great cuts to the basket, and killer defense. We played this non-stop zone that doubled everyone but seemed to never leave a shooter open. We were rotating faster than the ball could swing. It was like the 2nd half at Iowa. Tubby sat the twin towers and just kept sending waves of long, athletic guys after the ball. It looked like we had 6 guys out there.

And Bostick had a breakout game.

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: RE:Gopher Basketball (Mens) (1/11/2009 4:56:48 PM)

Nice ..... thank you sir.
News like that is always welcome here.
