It was kind of a good game last night. One of the better ones I've seen the Gophers play, with or without Lynch and Coffey. Nebraska is legit and we did make them work.

Legit thanks to the coach they hired. Should have been the MN hire.

He started at Mayville State. Bet I saw him coach there but didn't know it. That's where one of my sisters went to school and Mayville was in the same conference as UM-Crookston at the time.

Another B10 doormat ruses up before us (Purdue).
We just keep watching the same movie, in All B10 sports.
Getting tired of it

We are the B10 door mat

3-10 with 6 straight losses

Injuries aside I would have thought we would still be competitve playing small ball.

Clearly little Richie couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

THIS

Needs to go. Lynch's checkered past should also be factored in, if he "really didn't know", then he's just playing the same bad cards his dad did, without the winning.

I think the biggest problem is the Freshman can't play right away....Kentucky, Michigan State, Kansas, etc. give major minutes to their Freshman early so they are contributing 10-12 games later. Harris, Jelly, and even Fitzgerald are showing some things but they didn't get enough run earlier. Rick needs to build his bench and most importantly recruit a bench. It is this way every year....we can compete top 4-6 players but when we have injuries we are cooked.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (2/10/2018 9:44:20 AM)

WOW! I didn't see any of the game last night. Looking at the score, Indiana absolutely destroyed us.

Michael Hurt.

36 minutes.

0-5 from the field.

1 point.

Washington had 5 turnovers. I guess you gotta let him get experience.

If he didn't know about Lynch he is either incompetent or a liar. Apple doesn't fall....

1-10 since the suspension.
Please, no one ever try to tell me again, how basketball is our greatest "team" sport.
Wayyyyyy too affected by one or two individuals to be looked at that way anymore.

That win at Penn State was sweet. Had no idea it was the pinnacle of my 2017-2018 fandom.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (2/13/2018 9:40:36 PM)

Recruited to try and get an in with little brother.

After he goes to Duke or UNC, Michael may lose his ride. Probably should transfer, or be encouraged to.

According to a report from ESPN, the ongoing FBI investigation that continues to cast a cloud over the sport could result in potential NCAA penalties for as many as three dozen Division I programs, several of which reportedly could be upper-tier programs.

Upper tier programs?

So Minnesota is definitely not in this probe [:D]

Beating Penn State on the road.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (2/19/2018 9:18:14 PM)

Not sure what's going on...but the Gophers are taking it to Wisconsin tonight! We win tonight, the season is a success.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (2/19/2018 9:21:13 PM)

Michael Hurt has found his calling, and it's on the hardwoods at the University of Wisconsin.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (2/19/2018 10:14:25 PM)

Nope, we can't have nuthin'.

Lynn G. -> RE: Gopher Basketball (Mens) (2/20/2018 8:23:27 AM)

I just saw the headline saying that we lost in overtime. We apparently aren't allowed even the tiniest of moments of victory.

Starting backcourt was something like 8-30 from the field.

Nice.

We had the lead the ENTIRE 2nd half...except for the last 5 seconds when Wisconsin tied it. Obviously I knew we had no chance in OT.

BTW, Mason was tripped on our last-chance layup at the end of regulation. No foul called. Of course.
