TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/12/2011 10:15:35 AM)

It always bugs me that Dave Sinnecan <sp> gets his Packer preview show on KFAN. The flagship station of the Vikings has a Puker pregame show. And for that matter why is it every time a player hits a homer against the Twins Dick & Bert and FSN think we want to watch 50 replays of it spread out over the entire game. One of our guys hits a dinger and you get one replay.

And ... why does FSN think its cute to put "their homer" on with "our homers"? Isn't this the Gopher station? Talk about irritating.
Last thing I want to hear about is what a wonderful young man that Badger is, who just scored against our lackadaisical line change, around our ass-dragging defensemen, and then thru our don't -give-a-crap goalie.  [X(]

That's one of the things that absolutely bugs me about our local sports coverage. They cover Packer/Badger stuff almost as much as OUR sports. I know they're all about revenue and they know that the audience is filled with a) people who have moved here from Wisconsin and b) people who live across the border that are in the broadcast range of our local stations.

But dangit - do you think any other market does this? This is where Minnesota Nice needs to stop. I absolutely don't want Wisconsin teams covered as if we are interested in them.

Proud of you , Lynn.
[:D]

You're usually nicer than this ... I like this side of you!  [:D]

Lynn G. -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/12/2011 10:20:10 AM)

Yep.

I have written to KFAN a couple of times about that Packer preview show. I'm sure, again, that they are only interested in revenue, and they want local Packer fans to listen in. To heck with them I say.

Check back in by Monday night. I'm anticipating four consecutive blows this weekend because of the matchups with Wisconsin, and by Monday night, when I feel like I've been beaten black and blue with a baseball bat (the alliteration was unintentional) I'm going to be a bitter, nasty person.

I haven't decided how I'll act out on that. [:D]

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/12/2011 10:25:02 AM)

Ummm, kinda like the rest of us normally act?     [:D]

You must be careful, tho ... you completely giving in ... is the 4th sign of the impending apocolypse, ya know.

Lynn G. -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/12/2011 10:55:47 AM)

I'll hold on to just a sliver of humanity and crawl back to the surface on that.

... Until the next pounding.

It's all cumulative you know. Any of us can, and frequently have, accepted disappointments in sports. You throw it off and look ahead to the next game, or the next season. But this stretch of crap in ALL of our sports has added up and it's made me question why I allow myself to care so much that it gets me so down.

Hockey has been looking like our one bright spot this season, so last night's game was a particularly disappointing outing. It was supposed to be the one saving grace of this awful weekend of sports.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/12/2011 9:55:39 PM)

[&:]Vengence dammit [&:]

Dave E -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/12/2011 9:58:16 PM)

Got home in time for the third period and didn't see last night's game. I don't know what you guys are freaking out about; they looked pretty motivated tonight to me. I can only assume that's how they played all weekend. [8|]

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/12/2011 10:00:07 PM)

They brought out the axe in the 2nd intermission.  That seemed to piss the boys off.  Serious.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/13/2011 7:26:38 AM)

Avenge me! Avenge me! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavenge me!    [:D]

Nice win.
Hope thats not the only good news all weekend.
Patty rebounded well.

Shot-differential last night tells you how much better we are than them (Making Friday night even more unacceptable)

Jim Frenette -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/13/2011 10:21:31 AM)

Wis won the 1st 2 of a 4 game weekend border battle, so Minn needs the 2nd 2 to even it out. Good start by Gophers last night

Lynn G. -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/13/2011 10:22:44 AM)

I like the way you think Jim. Can you mention that to the football gods? [:D]

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 11:12:41 AM)

Stink fest last night.  In a weird sort of way, I expected it  [>:]

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 12:01:39 PM)

Yessir Jesser. It's a sign of immaturity. I think they are not handling the rarefied air of being high in the ratings. Plus other teams are gunning for them now.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 6:43:16 PM)

Any TV tonight?

If you have Charter, it's on 416

I have Charter, but apparently not that channel. I get a lot of the 400 channels....but this one is coming up blank.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 6:58:05 PM)

I swear that KSTC, Channel 17 here, used to carry most St. Cloud State hockey games. Hannibal is on tonight.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 6:59:20 PM)

I guess I'll go with UND at Bemidji State. The BSU camera work drives me nuts, though.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 7:05:25 PM)

This is a battle of 2 bad teams. UND only 3-6-1? BSU 4-7-1? Wow.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 7:09:11 PM)

Obnoxious Sioux fans ruining the national anthem. Do they do that at Gophers games too? Should have known they would invade Bemidji and act like they own the town.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 7:14:13 PM)

Early goal for Bemidji. Great start! Man, that BSU arena looks pretty sweet.

Maybe u need to buy sports package. We used to get hockey on 14 like you on 17 but that disappeared from us also

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 7:21:33 PM)

Dammit...UND scores to tie it up.

Sorry, this is what you get when I don't get the Gophers game. [&:]

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Hockey (11/19/2011 7:42:03 PM)

BSU with all the opportunities in the 1st period, but just cannot put it home.
