Sorry Matt for letting you ride this one out solo. Like I said, I watched most of the game Friday night and was shocked it was a 2-1 OT game. I figured last night would be a little more of a walk for the Gophers. So... I took a little break to watch the Big East BB and flipped it to the hockey game midway through the 2nd. To my utter disbelief, the Beavers are up 2-0!! Literally 10 seconds after I turn it on the Gophers get 1, but then the Beavs score about 25 seconds later. It just felt like the Gophers were on the power play the whole game though, and it was inevitable that they'd come back. We played a really good series, especially Walsh, but the U definitely deserved the sweep. Good luck to the Gophers now, especially if you're playing that school that's so lame it doesn't even have a mascot!!
BTW, really cool that the Gophers are still playing all the instate schools (UMD, StCloud, Mankato, BSU) in non conference games. I see the U is coming up to Bemidji again next year at the beginning of the season. I think the "Minnesota Cup", or whatever they're calling it, will be a great event.
