C'mon ... we go from one-dimensional to no-dimensional

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 1:54:15 PM)

Couple nice gains.
Keep it rolling

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 1:56:18 PM)

Very nice mix of run and pass suddenly.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 1:57:05 PM)

Need to score quickly.
Leave time to get ball back.

Silly question .... good crowd?

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:01:32 PM)

FAIL

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:01:45 PM)

Why oh why would you try a corner endzone fade with Shortell on 4th and goal?  Success rate on that has to be less than 5%.  He didn't show any touch on that drive at all.  I remember one good throw, when he scrambled very early in the drive.  The rest was sloppy.

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:02:31 PM)

EPIC FAIL.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:02:45 PM)

Stupid
Score as early as possible
Try to get ball back.
You dont want to go to OT with NW anyway ....

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:04:10 PM)

We're not dead, but still ... not handled well, imo.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:05:27 PM)

It was mainly the running game that helped us out in that last drive.  Then we got down inside the 10, and turned pass.  Of course that fumble on 2nd down didn't help matters at all.  Shortell did well just to recover that one.  But how about not fumbling it in the first place?  A little concentration in that situation (game on the line) and that type of thing doesn't happen.

That fumble never would've happened if he just hit the wide open dude in the EZ a couple plays before.

And the 4th down throw was ridiculous. You can't throw that pass where NO ONE has a chance....

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:07:28 PM)

Returner takes a fair catch at midfield with nothing but green in front of him. [X(]  Easy 8-10 yards thrown away.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:07:36 PM)

HERE WE GO

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:08:13 PM)

Getting smoked by a 3 man rush...

You see that on almost every level now ... is it dumb players or dumb coaches
ITS 4TH DOWN YOU MORONS, an INT doesn't hurt you anyway, throw it up for grabs
IT HAS TO BE CAUGHT BY SOMEONE

David Levine -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:09:16 PM)

Wow.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:10:29 PM)

How many times can one young man fumble a football?

Exactly.  The receiver lost his footing, but I think he lost it because he had to adjust to the bad throw.  Can't say for sure though.  A play that has to be made, but wasn't.  Just another indication as to why you don't put the game in Shortell's hands by having him throw a fade on 4th down.

He can't hold onto the ball.  He takes too long to make decisions.  Not a good QB.  Or at least not a good Big 10 QB.

Wonder if Gray was not healthy enough or if Kill made the decision to not risk it?  I definitely would have brought Gray in on the 4th down play by the endzone just to give the defense something to think about.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:12:25 PM)

How many fumbles did Shortell have today in half a game of plays?  If you tell me less than 10, I won't believe you.

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 2:18:23 PM)

It's a good thing I don't take this crap as hard as I did when I was younger or I'd be dead by now.

Pete M. -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 3:57:48 PM)

All year, this team hasnt made the plays that win games. If these guys can't, find some new ones.

Unfortunately, this offense has no game breakers outside Gray. Kirkwood is solid, but he seems to be more interested in hitting a safety after a 6 yard gain than making him miss and housing it. And the WRs unfortunately don have the athleticism to be playmakers. We need help there big time.

Jim Frenette -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 6:45:24 PM)

Coach Kill had another seizure after the game in his office. He's resting comfortably at hospital now

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (10/13/2012 6:51:26 PM)

Damn
Get better dude.
