The Gophers had two weeks to prepare for this game. My sense is that it will be a very competitive game. I think that makes it a big game because it could go either way. Which team is favored?

Sorry. I've had my hopes disappointed too many times by the Gopher football teams. Besides, how I feel about the Gophers does not affect them. If you are speaking to the players, then that would make more sense.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.....

But in this down year, and with the Gophers' easy schedule, we might be the current favorite to win the Big 10 West. The bad news is that means we do end up with Michigan State on our schedule....in the Big 10 Championship Game. That could get embarrassing. But on any given day....you never know....

I'd take a Big 10 Championship even if it was primarily because the conference sucks top to bottom. The national media would completely disregard it. They can shove it.

I am worried about our home game against Iowa. If we go into that one 7-1, and in line for the West championship, you know the refs will have something to say about that.

I forgot we're playing Northwestern. If we were playing Iowa, Wisconsin or Nebraska, that's when the phantom penalties on the Gophers would really kick in.
