Something of a trap game coming up next. At least we get a couple extra days rest before going to Colorado State. Then again, they open with Savannah State on Saturday.
Hope we get Campion back for this game, we struggled at LT with him and Lauer out. Persig needs to stay on the right side.

This game was clearly an opportunity lost. I appreciate the fact that the program has progressed to the point that we can be pissed off at not beating the #2 team in the country, but at some point they have to take that next step and win some of those big games, This was a signature win waiting to happen and they failed to seize the opportunity.

All we're left with after this game is to become big TCU fans now, hope they run the table the rest of the way so by December people will look back and say a 23-17 to those guys was pretty good. But yes a win would have been so much better.

Steve Lentz -> RE: Gopher Football (9/5/2015 10:29:58 AM)

I'm all for high expectations and find no solace in moral victories.
Still as high as I am on Minnesota this year I did not expect them to play within 6 points of TCU. We may have held TCU to the least points they score this year.

Kill teams get better as the season goes on and I think the defense will be pretty darn tough. The offense will take more time as you don't immediately replace talent like Cobb and Williams.

Lots of thugs on scholarships lately.
Lots of millionaire coaches and out of control programs.
We are headed for a crash ....

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (9/8/2015 9:18:49 AM)

Ohio State

Yikes.
Not looking forward to that road test. [:o]

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (9/8/2015 9:19:33 AM)

Oh, btw ... Can Urban Meyer get any more arrogant?

He certainly comes across as likable and humble, doesn't he?
Could you imagine Meyer and Calipari in the same room?
No doubt, they are very good at what they do, but my goodness, somebody needs to remind them (daily) that they are just men.

It seems (based on posts in other threads) I am one of the few in here that hasn't already crowned the Buckeyes as Champions.

I would love to take the field against OSU winning the championship.

The weak state of the conference may actually hurt them.

In a word ... yes. Guys like Urban Meyer can always dig deep and show you unprecedented levels of arrogance. It's like Olympic weight lifters. They always break records by a lb. They never just blow it away. That way they can continue to amaze you with their continuous record breaking. Meyer is the same way. He is consistently just a little bit more of an insufferable dick than he was the last time you saw him. All the while holding plenty more in reserve.

Sergey Bubka was the absolute master at that.

Broke the world record for men's pole vault 35 times.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 2:58:20 PM)

D picks em' off on the first play and Leidner makes a crappy throw and we go 3 and out [&o]

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:01:07 PM)

And.....a couple big plays later it's CoSt 7 Gopher 0. Another "great" start by Kill's guys.

stfrank -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:01:27 PM)

And then we punt and they march right down for a TD. Not looking good so far.....

stfrank -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:03:36 PM)

We need to get a good running game going the way Leidner plays. One of those guys we have must be able to throw a pass you would think.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:07:42 PM)

Bad pitch cost us there.

stfrank -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:07:45 PM)

Another 3 and out. I hope this game doesn't get out of hand early here.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:09:04 PM)

Huge play there.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:09:36 PM)

Wow [:-]. We just got a huge break.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:10:40 PM)

Probably will be overturned on the fumble. Still big no-call on the interference.

stfrank -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:10:57 PM)

They should get the ball on about the 10 yard line.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:12:43 PM)

They got it right.

stfrank -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:14:23 PM)

Running the ball right down our throat on us right now.

stfrank -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:15:51 PM)

Can't tackle for shit either....

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:18:27 PM)

Just a sloppy game overall by both teams so far.

bstinger -> RE: Gopher Football (9/12/2015 3:21:26 PM)

Big play, if it stands.
