Rumors: For Dallas, John Fox seems legit

Another puppet for Jones to control

That is fine with me - keep Dallas mediocre

Pretty funny.
NFL Logo makeovers.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (11/15/2010 10:13:28 AM)

Is there anything more ridiculous in the NFL than the pretense that the current Browns are the Browns of Jim Brown and Brian Sipe?

What a joke.

If the Vikings move to LA and become the Earthquakes or something, a new team will not be the team of Fran, Moss, and Peterson

Quote of the Week II

"Yes, I feel that.''
-- San Francisco running back Frank Gore, asked after the 49ers' narrow win over the Rams -- the Niners' second straight win with Troy Smith at quarterback -- if Troy Smith should be the starting quarterback. Troy Smith and Alex Smith will likely be healthy next week, when the 49ers play Tampa Bay.

Alex Smith is one of the greatest busts in NFL history - especially when you consider they passed on local college star Aaron Rodgers!

How dumb was that! You can see Berkely from Candlestick and these nimrods took that bust

I heard Jones will be hot for Jeff Fisher

We can stop talking about McNabb to the Vikings next year:

quote:

The Washington Redskins and quarterback Donovan McNabb have agreed to a five-year, $78 million extension that could be worth up to $88 million with incentives, a source with knowledge of the agreement told ESPN NFL Insider Michael Smith.

NFC East blog
ESPN.com's Matt Mosley writes about all things NFC East in his division blog.

• Blog network: NFL Nation

The source said $40 million of the deal will be guaranteed.

McNabb, who will turn 34 later this month, agreed to an extension just two weeks after he was benched at the end of a loss to the Lions because coach Mike Shanahan said the quarterback didn't have a grasp of the teams' 2 minute offense.

Shanahan later cited McNabb's ailing hamstrings as one of the reasons he pulled McNabb in the final minutes of the loss.

Last week, McNabb said he was able to clear the air in talks with Shanahan and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. He said he was satisfied with what he heard.

"Yes, I'm satisfied," McNabb said last week. "You get what you ask for, and after that you put it behind you and move on."

McNabb, who was traded by the Eagles to the Redskins before the season, faces Philadelphia on Monday night for the second time this season. He led Washington to a 17-12 victory at Philadelphia on Oct. 3.

Cheesehead Craig -> RE: NFL News (11/15/2010 3:08:53 PM)

That is just a stupid deal for Washington.

Lynn G. -> RE: NFL News (11/15/2010 3:14:16 PM)

I agree, although only the signing bonus is guaranteed.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: NFL News (11/15/2010 4:38:28 PM)

You bench a guy for basically sucking and then sign him longterm??

Sure - but that's still 40M.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (11/15/2010 5:17:21 PM)

Incredubly bad deal for Washington

How about McNabb lose some weight and get in shape first?

Wow

It's so dumb - I had just skimmed the article the first time and didn't even catch that. That's a lot of moolah for a guy in the later years of his career and who has some issues.

On last night's broadcast they gave the figure of $10 million that was guaranteed. There seems to be some confusion about the contract.

Lynn G. -> RE: NFL News (11/16/2010 9:44:25 AM)

Mike Florio was just on KFAN and said that the real contract is the $10 million guaranteed bonus - not $40 million.

They are paying him an additional $3.75 million just for the option of extending him after this year, but nothing beyond the $10 million is guaranteed. The Redskins aren't committed beyond this year with the way it was worded.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (11/16/2010 11:17:16 AM)

McNabb may still come to Vikings in a trade at end of year: The real deal with McNabb's contract - Wash paid McNabb $3.75 million in 2010 for the right to pay him
$12.5 million in 2011 and control his rights. If the Redskins cut him
after this season or trade him, they are only on the hook for the $3.75
million. - Smart deal!

The contract makes him almost untradeable. If the Redskins cut him he can be had for nothing, but I don't think anyone is going to trade for that contract.

Justin Sampson -> RE: NFL News (11/19/2010 4:29:15 PM)

Colt Brennan injured in vehicle crash on Big Island. Reportedly in serious condition at a Kona hospital.

Guest -> RE: NFL News (11/20/2010 1:51:20 AM)

broken ribs, collar bone and head injuries.. per ESPN radio...

seat belt on or off...

I'm guessing an athletic kid his age is "too cool and cocky" to wear a seatbelt.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (11/20/2010 8:13:15 AM)

O

If someone wants McNabb they can trade for him and re-work his contract depending upon future cap rules.

Why trade instead of waiting for him to be cut?

1. Make sure you get him
2. No bidding war
3. Get him in early for all OTAs
4. Have QB position set before draft

Remember, Shanahan could screw him over by cutting him late after teams have set their QB rosters.

OTA's? With no CBA and the NFL wanting to expand to 18 games, the players are countering with less off season workouts so we won't see all the OTA's anymore

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (11/20/2010 6:06:00 PM)

It is still important to get a new QB in early so he can start learning the offense. Of course if it is McWormBall he probably knows 90% of the offense from Philly.

John Childress -> RE: NFL News (11/20/2010 7:04:31 PM)
