The Titans had no comment Sunday about a published report that they loaned former running back Travis Henry $9,800 for child support payments. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Henry, 28, fell behind on support payments for a child in DeKalb County, Ga., to Jameshia Beacham, 29, that were mandated by a previous order. Threatened with jail, he borrowed the money from the Titans to pay the bill, according to court records. Henry, a former University of Tennessee star, played for the Titans in 2005-06. He was acquired in a trade with Buffalo in the summer of 2005, and received a base salary of $1.25 million that season. Last year Henry made the NFL veteran minimum of $585,000. The newspaper reported that Henry, 28, has fathered nine children by nine women in Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia. He has been ordered to provide child support for seven of them, according to court records involving the child living in DeKalb County. Henry, who now plays for the Broncos, has a $25 million contract and a base monthly salary approaching $50,000. Court records show that he spent $100,000 for a Mercedes and $146,000 for jewelry. Trust fund ordered Last week, DeKalb Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger ordered Henry to provide $3,000 a month for the 3-year-old boy he fathered out of wedlock with Beacham. However, the judge added an unusual provision to the order, which is believed to be unprecedented in Georgia. The judge wants to ensure payment by having Henry establish a $250,000 trust fund for the boy by next spring. That way, the judge said, Beacham will get timely payment if Henry falls behind on his installments again. Henry's lawyer, Sheil Edlin, said the trust fund amount could force Henry to appeal the ruling. "He has some concerns and he's weighing his options," Edlin said. Beacham's lawyer, Robert Wellon, said requested the trust because Henry rarely made payments of required by the earlier order, which were $800 a month. Edlin said even though Henry received a $1 million signing bonus from the Broncos, he collected much less than that after taxes, and much of it went to debts. "He doesn't have any money," Edlin said. "The guy has significant financial issues." Wellon, said that Henry wanted all of the children to visit him at training camp. Part of the custody arrangement with Beacham requires two weekend visits with Henry when he is playing. "I know these are a lot of kids, and there might be some questions about it," Edlin said, "but he's a really committed father."
