Did the external review also conclude that Kirk Ferentz is a dick? Cause he really is a dick.

I heard there will be some hearings upcoming on that.
Time to get to the bottom of it.
No more conjecture.

News conference on now.

No word if Ferentz admitted he's a dick.

Can't get him to rise up and straight up admit the truth?

Haven't followed the press conference.

But I'm sure he's going to promise to straighten out.

Just be on the lookout if the AD decides to give him the stiff punishment [:-]

Well his actions were a real boner.

David Levine -> RE: College Football News (8/5/2020 10:23:14 AM)

CSU football players and university athletic department staff say coaches have told players not to report COVID-19 symptoms, threatened players with reduced playing time if they quarantine and claim CSU is altering contact tracing reports to keep players practicing.

And they say those actions by the athletic administration is putting their health at risk in return for monetary gain the school would receive if fall sports are played.

Football players said they would like to play this season but don’t believe there should be a season given the spike in positive cases on the team in the past two weeks and the threat of more once Colorado State’s full student body comes to campus later this month.

"I believe there is a cover-up going on at CSU," said a current football player who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retribution. "But they could only cover it up so long and now that we have so many cases across athletics, they can’t cover it up anymore. It’s not about the health and safety of the players but about just trying to make money off the players."

Breaking: UConn will announce on WEdnesday that it’s suspending its football program for the 2020 season because of of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Independent schedule this year probably made it easier to make that call.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: College Football News (8/10/2020 10:56:52 AM)

Looks like no Gopher football this year. Sigh.

If they decide to have it in the spring instead...

The better players won't play; they'll not want to get hurt ahead of the draft.

and if they wait until next fall......

what a mess.

SoMnFan -> RE: College Football News (8/10/2020 11:09:45 AM)

We simply cannot have nice things [X(]

Golf Season for the Wild

No Fall Football

Twins suck vs supposedly inferior opponents.

What a fun run this is.

I don’t know what they think will be different in the spring. We likely aren’t going to have a widespread vaccine by then and we’re not going to have stopped community transmission.

Postponing most likely means not having a 2020/21 season at all. Which will, unfortunately, be an economic catastrophe for every athletic department.

It may nonetheless be the right choice if they don’t think they can get the players and staffs to group quarantine.

Promising ball in the spring keeps some kids enrolled in the school. Other than that, I don't know what they expect to change by then either.

TJSweens -> RE: College Football News (8/10/2020 11:57:38 AM)

Trump's bullshit hype aside, I thought there were at least a couple of vaccines could be ready in January of February.

Big ? is

If there is

Who gets it first?

Do they give it to athletes so they can compete?

Do they give it to the older people w/o knowing full well side effects?

Do they give it to lab rats to see which ones die first?

TJSweens -> RE: College Football News (8/10/2020 12:03:28 PM)

The vaccines are well beyond the rat stage. It comes down to how fast they can mass produce after a vaccine is approved. My guess is the people with underlying conditions will be targeted first.

We've been spoiled for a long time. Perhaps the country can take the fall to value the things they have. Apparently the spring wasn't enough.

I blame it on the ass-hats that continue to follow a leader that hasn't taken it seriously. Congrats. It was your choice.

Oh, by rats....I didn't mean actual rodents.

[:D]

Brad H -> RE: College Football News (8/10/2020 12:26:09 PM)

Imagine the college experience without college football. It's going to have to be about getting an education. What a tough break.

It sounds as if the college football players around the country are going to have to settle for getting an education this year. It must be disappointing.

Its possible.

But mass produced and delivered to everyone within a couple months?

I am more hopeful of an accurate testing device that can product accurate results in just a few minutes and be mass produced cheaply.

Scott Frost gonna make his own rules ….. [&o]

Big 10 has pulled the plug on all fall sports.
