Thanks BGDavis

bgdavis -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (9/17/2016 10:23:16 PM)

NDSU rented out the West High School lot in Iowa City for 7am tailgate party before the game. From the reports, it sounds like it's first time anyone has ever seen a visiting team do that. There are also reports of unusually long lines comprised of NDSU fans around the Cedar Rapids area this morning. Apparently, hotels around Iowa City were booked solid, and many NDSU fans were staying in the surrounding cities. We sometimes get a few opposing fans staying in Cedar Rapids for Hawkeye games, but from the various info I've heard and read, this was off the charts.

Bama comes back to beat Ole Miss after being down 24-3 at halftime.

Entertaining game.

Justin. How many Bison fans were there(approximately)?

I'd say about 10K.

Thrilled to see Mike Riley beat his old rivals. Hopefully he can continue to add some more talent for the Huskers in the next few years.

Yes...good win!

The Ducks hurt themselves a lot, but NU made the stops and drives when the game was on the line!

But playing with what Bo left him has been tough...

Riley and co. have already outrecruited Bo and next year we could see some fireworks on offense with Tanner Lee and those WR's...

How about those Bison beating Iowa on the road with a last second field goal.

Love IT!!!!!!!!!

Only bummer is it will lessen the impact of the Gopher victory over them.
Yes, and the Nebraska victory over them...Ha!

The Oregon fans were asking the Husker fans if it's always that loud in the stadium. The recruits that were there were equally impressed. 90,000 fans and a perfect fall day contributed to it all. Hope we can build on it.

Chris Olson -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (9/18/2016 6:43:28 PM)

my buddy said it was as loud as he's ever heard it...he grew up in Lincoln, but lives in Eugene now, so he had a lot of fun with Duck fans during and after the game

he said the most common text was "how much you guys pay these refs?"

He replied that they were Pac 10 refs...so go figure

McMurfy -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (9/18/2016 8:36:34 PM)

Pac-12 refs are historically awful.

That being said, Helfrich cost Oregon the game.
I'll be there next year for the payback.

Riley won the coaching battle?

He did.
Too many 2 point conversion attempts by Mark Riley Helfrich as he is called here.

You get outcoached by Opie, it's time for soul searching.

Wisconsin appears to be the real deal. They take out LSU and go to Michigan State and win.

I've never seen a D'Antoni squad that beat up at home.
Very surprising to see them that unprepared to play well today.
Wiscy/Mich game will be HUGE next week.

Bruce Johnson -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (9/24/2016 8:45:58 PM)

Did you ever see a wilder finish than in today's LSU/Auburn game? First LSU was celebrating thinking that they won, and then it was Auburn's turn after the replay review overturned it based on the clock expiring before LSU could get the ball hiked.

Ouch they can use review to determine hike time. I never heard of it being used for that before.

Only in the SEC. Week after week it is a complete mystery with their refs.

The lack of urgency by LSU in the last minute was mind boggling.

Miles has the most talent year after year and messes it up more often than not.

Fullback.
Nebraska still loves that position.
I see Les Miles just got fired.

Chris Olson -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (9/25/2016 8:14:56 PM)

And I heard Les was going to be hired by Nebraska as Fullbacks coach

ha

Bruce Johnson -> RE: College Football (Future Vikings!) (9/25/2016 11:50:18 PM)

The Miles firing was a shocker to me. I would love to have him here in Minnesota. Clearly, he will have his choice of opportunities going forward. He went to school at Michigan, so he had been rumored to go to Michigan, in the past. That will not be an option, now, for him.
