2012 is here and the Vikes have the 3rd pick in the draft, how exciting from a drafting point of view. The season wasn't so fun though.

picks I'm good with:

OL, DB, WR, LB, Late Round.. FG kicker.

Most of this depends on 2 things.. STADIUM and FA

If they Don't get a stadium deal.. does any of it really matter?

I'm not only excited about being #3 overall but also getting to pick 3rd in all the other rounds.

That's something a lot of people miss.  We pick high in EVERY round.  We get the best of each round.

Correct me if I am wrong but do we actually pick 3rd in each round or does it adjust per round with other teams that had the same record?

I seem to remember something like that happening the year we got AD.

We were the only 3-13 team so I don't know how any team jumps us without a trade?
If not sure how the draft mechanics works, though, so don't rely on what I say.

Forgot, Rams and Colts each only had two wins.  Never mind.

There's probably not a lot future pro football players in this game, but the North Dakota St. vs. Sam Houston St. game on ESPN 2 is very entertaining.

Yes, indeed! Sam Houston was a great running team, but they couldn't run on the Bisons.

Both teams tonight have better personnel in their secondary than our Vikings do.

Alabama's defense is good, real good.  But LSU's offense is brutal to watch.  They had a month to prepare for this game and this is the best they could do?

Roll Tide!

I knew BEFORE the game this would be one of the worst championship games in history

Paint drying comes to mind

OTOH, perhaps the Vikings should just draft the Alabama defense whole

3 quarters and 6 FG attempts by one team?
That's a national championship game?
I could go for an Oklahoma State - Oregon shootout right about now.

It's so bad Herbsteet just tried to hype the fact that a punt return by the "honey badger" might get them past mid field for the first time all game.  He got about a yard

What would you have to say say there was a playoffs, and these 2 teams beat down everybody else (like they did this year) and ended up in the championship game anyway?

Hasn't the SEC won six national championships in a row? (and seven of the past nine) They deserve to have the bias.

No, they don't.

We deserve to either have an entertaining game or there should be a real playoff to see who really is best.

THere are several teams that could have put up a better game than this crap.

We want the best team to win the national championship, however way it is determined, not the most entertaining team. A very important part of any championship team is it's defense. I appreciate a team with a great defense. I wish we had one here again.

If you want to argue for a playoff system instead of the BCS system, I'm with you, though.

If that happened, then so be it. I just have a real problem with a team playing for the national title without having even played in its own conference championship, let alone winning it.
