Former Vikings receiver Randy Moss had a touchdown catch in the Patriots’ 28-14 loss at the New York Jets. Moss now has 150 career touchdowns and joins Pro Football Hall of Famers Jerry Rice (208) and Emmitt Smith (175) and Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson (153) as the only players in NFL history with at least 150 touchdowns.

Moss has 48 touchdown receptions in his first 50 games with the Patriots. Moss’ total ranks as the most receiving touchdowns by a player in his first 50 games with a new team (rookies and veterans) in NFL history.

It amazes me how quiet this has been kept (his success in NE)
Yes, the talking heads do give him his props, but you'd swear he was a great receiver who can no longer get it done, the way they talk.
Definitely not true at all, if those numbers mean anything.
Da Freak, and he still is.
Loved how easy he made that grab yesterday.
It was like one of those cool NFL ads they used to run, without the camera tricks. [:D]

Some of the talking heads give him props. Some slam him and never fail to mention the traffic cop, playing when he wants to play etc.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Randy Moss (9/21/2010 9:12:49 AM)

That's the thing with Moss.  Some guys (analysts that is) appreciate his talent.  Others?  They are extremely jealous.  Even Carter IMO.  Those are the ones that won't acknowledge what he is doing/done.

John Childress -> RE: Randy Moss (9/27/2010 7:58:13 AM)

If you haven't read this, check out this article on Moss in college

MarkWren -> RE: Randy Moss (10/2/2010 6:33:43 PM)

Wow, John. What a piece! I'd never seen it before. Remember when Frank Offutt would come on line with us from time to time when Randy was a Viking, just to set the record straight and offer his insights? Seemed like such a good man. This piece makes me wish even harder that Moss were back with us as a player...I wonder if part of him doesn't feel the same way?

To this day I actually look forward to New England games just to watch Randy play, hoping he can pull in more receptions and a few TD's. I wish nothing but the best for him now and in the rest of his life. He's got to be one of the most misunderstood athletes of all time. Angel? Hardly? But possessing saintly qualities and genuine humanity? Yes, IMO.

John Childress -> RE: Randy Moss (10/2/2010 6:43:56 PM)

It is amazing how many people line up against him in college!

yeah dat!

Jersey is still hanging in my the closet...ready to go at a moments notice.

Lynn G. -> RE: Randy Moss (10/6/2010 8:22:44 AM)

Done! Now we can call him a "Past and Present" player. [:D]

marty -> RE: Randy Moss (12/5/2010 2:36:06 PM)

Sorry to see Moss entering the conversation during the enjoyable Bills' game.

I STILL hope for Moss back next year, to go with Peterson, Rice, and Harvin.

People have been down on Moss before, and he came back from the Raiders and became the best in the league.

Because there are NOT deep attempts to Moss, does NOT mean he has lost it. I do NOT think he is the same player he once was, but even having lost a step he can STILL be a productive player. I think he can go up and get a ball, just like Rice (and even at a later age, Moss probably has the same speed as Rice), and having them together will give the QB plenty of good options.

The thing I like MOST about Moss is that he wants to bring a Championship to Minnesota. I think he IS a cancer if he doesn't want to be somewhere, but I think he WANTS back in Minnesota now that they've gotten rid of Chili.

marty -> RE: Randy Moss (12/13/2010 1:00:01 AM)

Not everyone thinks Moss is done. Looks like Moss might get TWO coaches fired in ONE season:

marty -> RE: Randy Moss (12/21/2010 9:45:53 PM)

I guess I should have posted this HERE:

Titans' Fisher says acquiring Moss was 'not a mistake' :

thebigo -> RE: Randy Moss (2/11/2011 11:55:04 PM)

Would Moss come back in order to give a brother a hand making the bald headed fart look bad?

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Randy Moss (2/12/2011 8:24:11 AM)

A couple of years left with no ring

A franchise with no QB, present or future (for now)

A franchise with no where to play

A franchise with a totally new and unproven coaching staff

A franchise that may be in it's last year(s) of existance

____________________

I'm guessing he, and any other potential "good" FA, will steer clear of the state borders unless we throw an entire checkbook thier way.

Um, the franchise will not cease to exist.

It would just move and they'd still get paid.

Lynn G. -> RE: Randy Moss (2/13/2012 6:20:52 PM)

Randy Moss wants back in. Which team will take him?

marty -> RE: Randy Moss (6/18/2012 12:09:13 PM)

Here's an interesting, mostly positive story on Moss:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1222905-randy-moss-ex-teammate-on-a-future-hall-of-famer-part-1

I found the story on the $20 bills on the airplane and the one about other teammates (usually WRs) challenging Moss to a race, interesting. It was interesting that they would challenge Moss to a race, and then Moss said if they're willing to bet their next gamecheck on it, fine. Then the other said that he never saw anyone actually race Moss.

Todd M -> RE: Randy Moss (6/18/2012 12:38:42 PM)

Nice!

It says part one, if you see another part please put it up.

You, Sammy ... are the MAN

Doesn't get any better than that.

Can you imagine how badly he would have gotten ripped on in this place weekly?
Glad we could just enjoy him, without all the expert critiquing that he would have gotten.
Damn I loved those days.

Hell, I had a couple good dust-ups defending Tommy, even BEFORE this here internet-thingy [&:]
