I'm sure the Yanks would like this guy to just go away New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez paid his cousin Yuri Sucart almost $1 million in exchange for Sucart's silence about his performance-enhancing drug use, according to court documents found by the New York Daily News. The Daily News reports that Sucart threatened to "expose" information about Rodriguez and his history of PED use if Rodriguez did not provide Sucart "for the past services rendered and to fulfill your promise to support [Sucart] and his family for life." Sucart, who Rodriguez has said provided him with steroids while he was with the Texas Rangers, wanted $5 million from Rodriguez and a life estate for he and his wife. According to the Daily News, Rodriguez agreed to pay Sucart to keep quiet in June 2013 and gave him $700,000 in one payment, plus three later payments that totaled $200,000. Sucart is currently involved in the Biogenesis case centered around founder Anthony Bosch. Sucart pleaded not guilty in August to federal charges in relation to the Biogensis clinic. Bosch pleaded guilty in October and is awaiting sentence.
