ESPN love fest for Cueto tonight. Guess I can't blame them.

That team looks crazy good right now.

Royals are my new Red Sox.
Want em dead. Now. [:D]

Because of the attitude, and some there apparently feel entitled?

i get that.

They were fun last year; now they come across as arrogant in a lot of situations.

Magic Man's disappearing act

Michael Cuddyer has gone from key offseason acquisition to only a part-time player, Newsday’s David Lennon writes, as the Mets are committed to giving Michael Conforto regular at-bats. Cuddyer’s season-long struggles at the plate and his recent DL stint have opened the door for Conforto to take playing time, at least against right-handed pitching.

I've never seen a team go from "woe is me" to "kiss my ass" faster.
Too much too soon.
They're really really good.
You can enjoy that, without being arrogant and as you say ... Feeling that everyone owes you something.
I'm hoping it all blows up in their face, but alas, they have built something pretty solid.
Oh well, will give me someone to root against come playoff time.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 10:48:25 AM)

I used to rip on Dayton Moore

He'd make odd deals

Now he has a pretty good touch

His biggest assets have been a number of above average pitching prospects;something the Twins don't have.

There's no way MN could give the Reds 3 pitchers worth a **** from the system for Cueto.

The lack of developing pitchers is killing MN.

Everyone wants pitching; there is no need to trade for OFs and DH-types, unless they're elite prospects.

And MN can't trade Berrios; they barely have anything decent after that; and no one else remotely ready to help.

Toronto pounding the As
Yanks struggling with the Tribe
May see the East change hands tonight.
Was shocked to see some of the "firsts" that happened last night. Or that might happen.
The Yanks have NEVER relinquished a three game (or greater) lead entering August.
They were 8 up on August 1.
That blows me away, as many times as they have won or led divisions ... to NEVER blow one? Wow. [:-]

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 7:58:04 PM)

And the Amazing Cards just keep pounding out wins.
Helluva franchise.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 7:58:47 PM)

Twins may be gettin the band back together.
Nice bust-out so far tonight!

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 8:02:19 PM)

The O's get no-hit today by Iwakuma and the M's.
Thought he looked good ....

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 8:05:34 PM)

500 homers has gotten old ... No one thinks much about that number anymore ..
Until you hear someone like Ryan Braun, who seemingly has hit tons of homers for years on years ... and today he hits his ..... drumroll ........ 250th.
Makes you realize what a big number 500 is.
Still remember running thru the house at my Grandma and Grandpas in early August, they yelled ... Harmons up! (August 10, 1971 ... I was 10)
He was on 499 and we were on pins and needles. Will never forget that call.
It was like he called us to the radio, and did it for us. Made me a fan of the long ball.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 8:36:53 PM)

Iwakuma, whom the Twins struggle against, threw a no-hitter vs the O's today

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 8:39:06 PM)

Val's hitting cleanup for the A's [:-]

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 8:41:04 PM)

Has not lost since August 1st

Yanks in a slump? NO kidding vs Jays

Toronto gave up one run in the 3 gamer.

I would have guessed Braun had way more.

500 is still absolutely amazing to me. #1, you have to be very good at hitting HR's. #2, you have to play a very, very long time, and stay healthy.

When you do the math, it seems so unlikely to ever do it. 30 HR's a year for 16 years, still doesn't do it.

Knew you'd get it.
Its amazing.
That 250 for Braun just blew me away.
Hes been outstanding, really. And he's only half way there ... and mostly used up .... wow.

Braun's getting ..... OLD too

31. Has to produce a lot now to get near it.Don't see it happening.

[:-]

A guy like Sano has a shot, but it has to be a long run of success.

WHich is why the 2 studs, harper/thick neck, are so much fun to watch.

That pound-it-out-nightly consistency is really the most impressive thing superstars do.
Tons of guys get hot a couple years.
To pound it out there for 15-20 plus years is admirable.
That's what Aaron always topped everyone in, imo.
Not as flashy as the bigger names, but he was like that turtle in the race... here he comes, here he comes. and 744 later .....

JT2 -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 9:06:57 PM)

I think it's pretty neat to be a baseball fan that was fortunate enough to watch some of these guys reach unthinkable numbers, regardless who they play for.

Best of the best. We're lucky as fans to see it.

SoMnFan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (8/12/2015 9:09:20 PM)

Even after they fall into irrelevancy ... it STILL fun to see the Bosox get pounded nightly.
If I remember right, many ESPN Experts said this could be their best team EVAH at the start of the year.
Nice call, jackasses! (in my best Joe Flaherty) .....
