The Nationals have acquired veteran outfielder Ryan Raburn from the White Sox, according to a club announcement from Chicago’s Triple-A affiliate in Charlotte. Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports that the Nats will send cash or a player to be named later back to the White Sox in exchange for Raburn, who will be assigned to Triple-A Syracuse in the Nats organization

Mike Trout's left thumb surgery means #mntwins won't have to face him in 2017. Season series wraps up w/3 vs #Angels at TF July 3-5. Trout in 32 games, 140 PA vs #mntwins: .310/.421/.543 Actually only his 8th-highest OPS for any opponent he's faced in 30+ games.

The Red Sox have now announced that Pedroia has been placed on the DL, with Sandoval indeed being activated in his place. The Red Sox will place second baseman Dustin Pedroia on the 10-day disabled list with a “severe” sprain of his left wrist, according to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe. Pedroia is expected to miss at least the next two weeks and is headed for a second opinion, Abraham adds. Pablo Sandoval is expected to be activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move, per the report.
