JC2015 -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/5/2015 2:24:42 PM)

What a dumbass

I would never have someone like that on my team

Dave Odle -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/5/2015 7:20:24 PM)

Isn't that their starting TE? Ouch.

SoMnFan -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/5/2015 7:29:05 PM)

Why is it rich young people cannot figure out that they can HIRE people to ....
DRIVE for them
ARGUE for them
FIGHT for them
MISBEHAVE for them
Its maddening sometimes, to see how dumb they act, when its all totally unnecessary.
Money cant buy happiness, but it CAN buy you people who will keep you out of trouble.
Morons.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/5/2015 10:08:40 PM)

Because they grow up with "adults" that allow them to believe they are immune to things. They do things "normal" people can't get away with and the same "adults" cover it up. Then they get recruited by "coaches" who allow them to continue the same behavior.

There's very few here that would survive that and think "I need to do the right things". The whole system is FIFA. They get to think they are untouchable.

JC2015 -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/6/2015 6:31:13 AM)

Jeff nailed it

There was a young man on my son's football team whose brother played for the Steelers. From 6th grade on he was treated as special and rules didn't apply to him.

JC2015 -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/7/2015 1:07:41 PM)

Now we know why Wilson threw that SB losing INT!

The scary thing is, it's not just the ones who make it to the NFL who get this treatment. And with it can easily come a sense of entitlement and superiority, as well as a deadening of empathy. I'd be curious to know how many people involved in predatory banking practices are former star athletes at the high school and/or college level. I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's higher than the general population.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/7/2015 2:58:39 PM)

All the pundits are saying that GB's TE should get a 2-4 game suspension for firing those shots (if true). They have got to be kidding. Do they have any idea what they are talking about? AD gets a full year but firing shots in the air at women gets you 2-4? Those bullets come down assholes. [&o]

JC2015 -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/7/2015 4:18:04 PM)

No consistency at all!

David Levine -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/8/2015 8:04:51 PM)

New York Giants franchise defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly had his right index finger amputated on Wednesday following a July 4 weekend fireworks accident, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

And Tampas Wilson blew off two digits as well?
Jeez us Christ fellas.

He should be suspended for the entire season. He discharged a weapon in a public place.

We'll see how consistent Goodell is.

twinsfan -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/9/2015 8:28:32 PM)

RIP Ken Stabler. One of the first football legends I learned about. Just a tick before my time, but I heard about your legend when I was a kid.

SoMnFan -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/13/2015 10:51:51 AM)

Shocking.
Another one of those p.o.s. Saints coaches during bounty gate ..
Aaron Kromer, currently with the Bills... Under nvestigation for punching and threatening a kid who dared mouth off to him over the weekend.
Also shocking, that he currently works for that p.o.s. Rexy Ryan.

I think dude has been watching Gladiator too long!

QUOTE: "Whatever you do echoes into eternity with player contracts," he said.
Tennessee Titans interim CEO and president Steve Underwood says the team won't back off its determination to have offset language in the contract of No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota, who remains the only 2015 first-round pick yet to sign a contract.
WOW!

AKA the "Ripple Effect". The ripples may eventually be infinitesimally small, but they will still be rippling.

SoMnFan -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/26/2015 8:06:30 PM)

Because, ya know .... like, during a game, ya know ... the ummmm, ref touches the ball quite a bit.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but they re-set each play, no? And toss it to each other, and handle it, and set it down, and hold it, and etc etc.

Hmmmmmmm.
You'd think if there was this huge advantage scheme going on, where cheaters, ya know .... deflate the ball and stuff .... wow, you'd think the refs would notice that and change the ball, no? [&o]

You know, if the league would just take over 100% administration of the balls and not let the teams handle them...

Lynn G. -> RE: Around the NFL (News) - 2013 Season (7/27/2015 8:33:38 AM)

You might think that but it turns out they didn't notice. The game moves quickly and their quick touch to set the ball down for the next snap apparently isn't enough time to get a feel for the inflation - - - or more likely it just wasn't on their radar back then to inspect it for that. Now it is on their radar - so it may not really add to the time they spend with the ball, it just may mean that when they have the ball they'll be pushing into it instead of just holding it.

That's what cheating does - it makes everyone's job a little different.

That's right. I'm the "other" Scott.

Other than that you're Alpha Scott. How's that? [:D]

I don't think the other Scott will stand for this. There must now be a cyber fight to show dominance. [&:]

I've never been alpha-anything.

So that's cool.

Actually in here I am usually not referred to as Scott. It's usually Trekky. Which I am totally ok with.

TGS
Scott
Scotty
Dumbshit

I reply to most of those.
