Seattle gets away with lot of contact with their defensive 2ndary, just like the Packers have for much of the last 20 years.

The Packers have also stretched the league rules a little bit with their offense, but one writer noticed it, and wrote about it yesterday:

Appears that blockers have already engaged before the ball has even entered the viewing screen let alone being caught by the receiver. That shit needs to be cleaned up.

This is me complaining about bias again, but I have a question. How often does a team get two home prime time games in a row? The Packers played at home last Sunday night and play at home again on Monday night this week. That can't be a very frequent thing, right?

If true Hochuli should be shut down for the year as a ref.

Joking or serious, every call should be made without regard to color of jersey or age of player or whatever. I am sick to death of officiating in sports changing based on the players involved. It's one of the reasons I so despise basketball. Ed Hochuli used to be one of the games best. Now, I wouldn't want him reffing my kid's 8th grade team.

Maybe. But it's just more of an example of the slathering that the talking heads on sports networks give them. Aren't you sufficiently sick of that?

I haven't made it over to the other threads so my apologies if this is being spoken of already. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of last night but the Puke got another "gimme". It doesn't matter if the OT jumps because the defender "draws him" or not. If an Olineman moves, it's a dead ball, period. Another blown call in the Pukes favor.

I saw that, too, Jeff. Had the same exact thought. And you just know that had that been the Vikings (or really, any number of teams other than GB), they would have called it back even if they didn't stop the play immediately.

I agree on the surface it seems like fun banter, but in reality it is an example of a subliminal bias that would give credence to what Marty has been trying to tell us for years.

Except the LT DID move, clearly and with the intent of getting the whistle blown before the defender could get back onside. The defender jumps, then the LT jumps (pointing at the offsides defender), then the ball is snapped. Should have been blown dead.

And now that I re-watch the second one of those, the same thing happened, though there was a bit less time between movement and snap.

My thought is, if they're going to give Rodgers the continuation, our players need to also continue, and knock him on his ass. Make him pay with blood - no play is free!

Oh Don't get me wrong I think they move too. It just appears that they are subtler then other teams. Teddy supposedly tried it on the interception. Yes that is what floors me is the defenders stop and just let him survey and throw. Does anybody else get the continuation play that Rodgers gets. He is the best without that advantage.

It's unlikely Teddy could have been aware that the SD defender was lined up offsides, certainly not with any level of confidence.

Great QBs see guys open deep, they hit them. They don't hide behind what the offensive gameplan is. Favre would have thrown deep if he had receiver open not underneath.
