The fact that the Packers appeared to know he wasn't vaccinated, yet let him pal around with the players from his own team and the teams they played against, without a mask and right in people's faces - is reason enough for the Packers to be heavily fined and lose a couple of draft picks.

And Rodgers should be suspended for the rest of the season.

Should be but wont be. The NFL is all about the $$$$ and Rodgers is one of its most marketable stars.

There are few in the league that would get away with what he will get away with. Most players would be suspended for at least several games. But not his holiness, Sir Aaron the Jackass.

Lynn G. -> RE: Around the NFL news (11/9/2021 11:35:30 AM)

I agree, UNLESS more people in "the business" (like Terry Bradshaw) speak up and the league figures out it's untenable to over-protect Rodgers. We'll see.

Terrible news...

Dak,,,,Pre [&:][&:][&:][&:][&:] Prescott....[&:][&:][&:][&:] is out 6-8 weeks minimum with a broken thumb.

Poor Poor Cowboys...It couldn't have happened to a better team... [&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:][&:]

Methinks my Cowboys hatred is seeping out here a little...

Now, if Rodgers neck injury is worse than initially expected...

I feed bad about how I feel about this. I am giddy and guilty at the same time....I honestly don't wish injury on anyone. But since it had to happen....

Eat that Jerry Jones. "America's Team" can choke on that bullshit.

Ricky J -> RE: Around the NFL news (9/26/2022 7:18:45 PM)

Do the Giants often wear the whites at home? Or are they wearing them specifically so Dallas has to wear the blues?

Philly's road to 8-0 (and somewhere it was pointed out, no 8-0 team has won a SB - and these guys most certainly won't)

Pretty sure the dolphins perfect season ended in a Superbowl victory.

They had to have been 8-0 at some point.

Yes, but they were 16-0 going into the Superbowl, when they won the Superbowl that made them 17-0

The Giants were good from 1986-1992, but damn. They've been irrelevant for going on 30 years, even with a couple SB wins. So weird.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: Around the NFL news (4/10/2023 7:23:18 PM)

They are going after everybody, which IMO means throwing shit against the fan. Hope they get blowback in court costs.

Dwayne Haskins was drugged on the night of his death as part of an alleged "blackmail and robbery conspiracy" against the former NFL quarterback, according to a lawsuit filed by his family.

The lawsuit, filed last month in Broward County, Florida, lists four individuals, two restaurants, a golf driving range and a hotel as defendants connected to the alleged conspiracy.

Haskins was killed April 9, 2022, after he was struck by a dump truck while he was walking on a South Florida highway. He was 24. The lawsuit also lists the driver of the truck as a defendant, citing his "negligent acts" as a direct cause of Haskins' death.

A statement released Monday by an attorney representing Haskins' family also mentioned the alleged conspiracy against Haskins and said the lawsuit "is an important step in the process of uncovering the complete truth about this tragedy."

"It is believed that Dwayne was targeted and drugged as part of a blackmail and robbery conspiracy," attorney Rick Ellsley said in the statement. "In fact, his highly-expensive watch was stolen from him shortly before his death."

Haskins' widow, Kalabrya Haskins, is listed in the lawsuit as the plaintiff and personal representative of Haskins' estate. She is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages related to Haskins' death.

A toxicology report concluded Haskins was legally drunk when he was hit by the truck on I-595 in Florida. Separate samples taken from his body had blood alcohol levels of .20 and .24, both of which are above the legal limit in Florida of .08.

According to the toxicology report, Haskins also tested positive for ketamine and norketamine, drugs that are used by medical professionals as anesthetics but that also have been known to be used recreationally.

The medical examiner ruled Haskins' cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of his death as an accident. No charges have been filed.

In 911 audio from the accident, Kalabrya Haskins told the dispatcher her husband called her early April 9 and said he was going to get out of his rental car to get gas and would call her back when he returned. She called 911 after she didn't hear back and requested dispatch check on him.

The final crash report released last year by the Florida Highway Patrol said Haskins was walking on the westbound side of I-595 when he entered into the travel lanes and into the path of the dump truck, which was traveling in the center lane. The front left of the truck struck Haskins.

The lawsuit alleges the driver of the dump truck was speeding, driving carelessly and had a cargo load exceeding the legal weight limit. The lawsuit also alleges negligence by the individual owner of the 1994 Kenworth truck, the driver's trucking company, the Florida Department of Transportation, the rental car company and the contractor that provides signage along I-595.

"The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Report shows that Dwayne was only feet away from making it safely across the roadway when he was struck and killed by an old dump truck," Ellsley said in the statement. "... Many questions remain as to why the truck driver did not avoid hitting Dwayne given the highly visible activity in the area before the impact and the fact that the other drivers did not hit Dwayne."

Bill Johanesen -> RE: Around the NFL news (4/10/2023 7:28:27 PM)

So he was drunk and drugged while crossing I-595 after running out of gas, but hey it's the fault of many others.

With a BAC of 0.24 the drugs are mostly irrelevant but I guess it fits the conspiracy.

Playofffs

AFC
Bye - Ravens

Cleveland Browns @ Houston Texans – Saturday, January 13, 4:30 p.m. ET

Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs – Saturday, January 13, 8 p.m. ET

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills – Sunday, January 14, 1 p.m. ET

NFC

Bye - 49ers

Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys – Sunday, January 14, 4:30 p.m. ET

Los Angeles Rams @ Detroit Lions – Sunday, January 14, 8 p.m. ET

Philadelphia Eagles @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Monday, January 15, 8 p.m. ET

Now, My standards for playoff hopes are as follows.
1 I want the Vikings to win. Since they are not in the playoff this year...this option is moot.
2. I want the Packers to lose. They face my number 3 issue.
3. I want the Cowyboys to lose, Unless they are playing the Packers.
4. I want the Patriots and Steelers to lose unless facing one of the above teams.
After that it comes down to Teams that Haven't been to the Superbowl, then Teams that haven't won the Superbowl, then teams that have the longest time since the last time they won the Superbowl.

So for those standards this is how I would like this weekend to go:

Cleveland Browns @ Houston Texans – Saturday, January 13, 4:30 p.m. ET Neither team was been to the Superbowl and the Browns have existed longer, So I root for the Browns here.

Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs – Saturday, January 13, 8 p.m. ET - Dolphins last won in the 70s, Chiefs are reigning SB Champs so....Dolphins I'd love to see Tyreek Hill destroy them on Saturday.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills – Sunday, January 14, 1 p.m. ET - Steelers have 6 SB titles. Bills have gone four times but never won. Let's go Buffalo.

Bye Ravens. They've got a couple titles under their belts. I would lo see Cleveland or Houston be the unprobable team to go all the way....but it's likely to be Chiefs and Ravens inthe AFC title game.

In which case I will support the Ravens...

Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys – Sunday, January 14, 4:30 p.m. ET - Well see above. I want the Cowboys to eliminate the Packers than go on to lose the next week.

Los Angeles Rams @ Detroit Lions – Sunday, January 14, 8 p.m. ET - Detroit has never been to the Superbowl. (I will seriously hate the football Gods if they let the Lions win a title before the Vikings) but the Rams are only a couple years removed from a title. So Lions here.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Monday, January 15, 8 p.m. ET both have won a title recently. I would be happy with either's demise.

Bye - 49ers. They have a number of titles but its been since early 90s since they've won it all. Really hoping for Lions - 49ers NFCCG. But likely Philly figures out some shit or Dallas rolls into SF for a classic rematch.

I will root for the Lions, until eliminated then 49ers the rest of the way.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: Around the NFL news (1/8/2024 10:02:16 AM)

As much as Detroit deserves a Super Bowl…

If they get there, I’ll be a grudging lions fan..

But to be the last and only nfc north to get a SB I guess I’ll hope to see that schneid wiped out and die a happy-ish,man

OK. so Wild Card Weekend went a bit askew.

Green Bay Bitchslapping the Cowboys? Is Mike McCarthy fired yet?

Eagles late Season implosion complete.

So, by my standards, not happy with Green Bay Winning. But Dallas gone is ok. 49ers wont roll over for the Packers the way the Cowboys did.

So I want the 49ers to win, because standard 2 is Packers must be eliminated.

I would prefer Lions over Bucs. Bucs won it all a couple years ago and Lions have never been there.

so What I want for NFCCG is Lions at 49ers. What will happen, Well, I might just get my wish here.

AFC'
Chiefs win...big surprie there. but, this is new, they have to go on the road to Buffalo this time. THIS time we will not see a dejected Stefon Diggs sitting on the sidelines after ONCE AGAIN losing to the Chiefs in the playffs. Not feeling confident in Chiefs winning there. plus I'd prefer Buffalo, Never won it all.

Ravens get Texans. Let's face it, the Texans don't know they are supposed to lose this game, so I hope they surprise the Ravens and steal this game. Should make for an interesting AFCCG.

What I want for AFCCG Texans at Buffalo.

What will happen because I want that. Chiefs at Ravens.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: Around the NFL news (1/16/2024 11:05:17 AM)

I’d like to see a Detroit/ buffalo SB.. just because…

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Around the NFL news (1/22/2024 9:55:57 AM)

And Buffalo just can't shake the Playoff blues with the Chiefs.

Three times in the last four years, Buffalo eliminated by KC.

So who's left?

Lions at 49ers

Lions never been there, 49ers haven't won it all since early/mid 90s with Steve Young.

Lions are having the "magical" Season. 49ers almost lost to Packers. Packers fans have been hungover for days now and still can't understand why the refs didn't favor them like usual.

Lions beat the Bucs. Pretty even game there too.

I see this NFCCG coming down the wire...

Ravens, Texans. Predictable to an extent. Ravens took over the game in the 2nd half. Having an MVP caliber QB and a Very good HC can do these things for you.

Bills Chiefs. LOL. Buffalo just can't get past the chiefs in the playoffs. Even playing at home.

So KC travels to Baltimore for the first AFCCG in Balitmore since like 1970.

Ravens are just the better team....but it's not by a lot and you can't set aside or ignore the playoff experience of Reid/Mahomes.

Going to be close here too.

Rooting for Ravens/Lions
