We were shut out in Game 2 vs. LSSU. Looks like we have no chance at home ice in the playoffs now.

Bitzer played well, giving up only one goal, which was in the 3rd period. LSSU then tacked on two empty-netters for the 3-0 win.

My son took his bar league team in there this weekend and won a tourney, routing a Beaver-Alumni squad. [;)]

Despite the standings, Michigan Tech is probably the best team in the conference based on the raw numbers. This will be a very tough series for us.

Yawner of a 1st period. Don't remember seeing a more uneventful period of Beaver hockey in my lifetime.

That woke Michigan Tech up, as they were on a mission the last 30 seconds of the 1st. But Bitzer stonewalled them. This will be a hanging on for life game, unfortunately. Michigan Tech appears to be the more talented team.

Coach Serratore agrees with me that Michigan Tech is the best team in the league.

Another goal for the Beavers. 2-0 with 16 minutes left. Even though we're at home, I would call this an upset in the making. Besides, we suck at home this season. For sure an upset.

We just dominated the best team in the conference. I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of energy in the Sanford Center. I should show up tomorrow night and put some life into that place.

Way to support the team last night!! I was not at the game, but was at a basketball game. I remembered to set the DVR from my phone at about 7:00 (I'm with you Matt, Dish is the best). When I got home, I watched it and didn't check in here till now.

Great win! We needed Bitzer to step up, and he really has big time. In some ways, this is a frustrating team because it sure feels like we should be better than 6th place. But, if we get hot going into the playoffs I definitely feel like we can make a good run with Bitzer playing like this.

How does Harms get 1st star last night? One of his goals was an empty netter. Anytime a goalie pitches a shutout (unless it's 12 SOG or something) he should get 1st star. Bitzer is a stud. One of the Top 5 goalies in the country. We are lucky to have him for 2 more seasons after this one.

I just had an epiphany. Scott Williams is a poor man's Dick Bremer.

Got lucky tonight. My wife is watching her Netflix arrival, The Expandables on the good TV. I just got home from work. Relegated to the 15-year old-school box/"tru-flat"[&:] TV for the hockey game, but that's OK. Go Beavers!

Can't believe Michigan Tech is only 21 in the pairwise. They are ranked #14 in the polls, which I think is more indicative of the kind of team they have. For whatever reason, the WCHA is getting really screwed in the pairwise this season. We'll definitely only get one team (tourney winner) in the NCAAs. A sham IMO.

Even watching the standard definition station, this TV is cutting off a good portion of the left and right of the screen.

How did Penn State become a hockey powerhouse so quickly? I know the Gophers threaders like to make fun of Penn State. But look at them now....#14 in the pairwise and possibly going to the NCAAs even if they don't win the B10 tourney.

The Wild could take a lesson from BSU. You usually need to shoot the puck to score.
