The 2nd period has been more evenly played, but I'd still say advantage Duluth. UMD has outplayed them, even if SOG are about the same now. Both goaltenders have been really good. BC has had some good chances sprinkled in. UMD has applied the more constant pressure and had more overall opportunities.

Lots of action in this game. Up and down in the 2nd period. 1st period was fun too, but 90% of the action was on one end of the rink.

Don't pull the goalie too early. Dominating play lately. No reason to risk giving them a goal until about 1 minute left.

OMG....had a wide open net with less than 10 seconds left.....not sure what happened.....but it didn't to in. Broken stick???? Just crazy.

Oh wow....With 8 seconds left the puck was going in for the tie....but somehow it was swiped away by a combination of the goalie glove and a stray stick. SOOO CLOSE.

Tough loss. The better team lost. Or at least the team that played better lost. No doubt about it.

That UMD game was quite a game that's for sure. It was too bad they couldn't put that one in at the end to push it to OT. I watched the interview after the game with the BC goalie and when I saw all the extra padding he had on I thought, no wonder he is hard to score on, he covers most of the net with padding.

The University of Wisconsin will name the Detroit Red Wings assistant as its new head hockey coach, multiple sources tell ESPN's John Buccigross. Granato played at Wisconsin from 1983-87 and had a 13-season NHL career. Granato is replacing Mike Eaves, who was fired earlier this month after 14 seasons as Wisconsin coach

BC vs Quinnipiac
and
Denver vs UND
Thursday
Finally getting smart and dropping the week off in-between.
Pretty solid final four
Quinnipiac has lost 3 games all year. Denver just pounded a solid Ferris State club.
BC has some real talent, and UND is on a pretty good roll.
Looks like a wide-open race to me.

very tough loss by St. Cloud State against Ferris State. Worked so hard to tie it up in the third period, only to lose quickly in overtime.

Boston College got some huge saves in beating UMD. Great effort by UMD to come back the way they did.

Denver is good.

Maybe UND can win it all now the Dave Hakstol is gone to the NHL.

So Denver Vs UND. One of them will be playing for the title. St. Cloud split with UND this season but IIRC crushed them total goals. I think went 3-1-1 against Denver.
I am going to be bitter about this at least until next hockey season.

The only opponents I would make sure I'd get tix in advance are UM, UND, and UMD. Everything else you can walk up and get tickets with no problem.

You'll be the first to know, drew. My problem is my wife HATES hockey. Hates all sports except baseball. Which is weird since she played DII basketball (?). But especially hates hockey. I would possibly be making that trip by myself. I was thinking about running it by a friend from Fargo that now has a son attending UMD (not as a hockey player). That would probably give me more permission than meeting a guy from the internet, but who knows?, she knows I've met a bunch of guys from the Internet at Twins games. But BSU hockey fans on the internet would be new territory. [8|]

Haha!!!~![&:] I can understand her apprehension!

If you get the go ahead, I would love to meet you and watch the game. We can get the sleepy Sanford Center crowd fired up!
