When the Patriots have lost the first game of the year to a division opponent, the second time around they are 7-0 with a 28-point differential.
Greatest coach in my lifetime. Not listening to any arguments otherwise. [:D]

Brady may now be the greatest QB ever to play as well. I 'll listen about Montana, but Brady takes a back seat to no one.

I've always thought Joe Montana was vastly overrated as an all-time QB. Steve Young is the better quarterback because he has a 96.8 QB Rating, whereas Joe Montana only has a 92.3. Steve Young also has fewer career interceptions, more rushing touchdowns, and a higher passing completion rate than Joe Montana. After seeing both players perform, it is clear to me that Steve Young is superior in his athletic capabilities, and his quarterbacking skills.

Except, you're Wrong.
I can't describe it, but Montana was only as good as he needed to be.
And I hate Montana

Are you still bitter about the run Young had in that playoff game?[;)]

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (10/31/2016 9:03:02 PM)

Pathetic first half for the Vikings.

Embarrassing. 2 weeks in a row.

Corleone -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (10/31/2016 9:53:56 PM)

9-7

bstinger -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (10/31/2016 10:22:24 PM)

Ugh, we aren't very good. O line is obvious weakness, knew that coming in and didn't do much to address it. Injuries have only compounded that. Defense is looking rather pedestrian too. Nothing special from special teams. No running game to speak of. We suck all of a sudden.

Luckily for the Vikings the rest of the division isn't anything special either.

We just made the 1-6 Bears look rather special. Cutler looked like HOF material. Not to mention RB Howard.

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2016 8:32:24 AM)

I had a bad feeling all week. I always have a bad feeling when we play in Chicago, that's why I voted that we would lose. Looks like MarkWren was the other vote for the Bears victory. It doesn't matter what players are in purple...they will always suck in Chicago. Until they can win 3 in a row in Chicago, I would always bet against the Vikes there. It felt like no McKinnon hurt more than most people expected. The offensive line was ignored this offseason - big mistake.

Much like the Twins' efforts with the bullpen. Disastrous results.

This game reminded me of the season opener last year. Just went through the motions in all areas.

TJSweens -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2016 9:10:06 AM)

The O-line is historically bad right now. Boone was brought in to give us stability on the left side and leadership to the unit as a whole. Massive disappointment. Smith was very pedestrian before getting hurt. The move back to the right side has not helped Fusco one bit. He routinely gets pushed into the backfield. I really don't understand the move of Sirles back to the bench when he was actually out performing the people he subbed in for.

At this point there is nobody to get to help. The answers have to come from within and some drastic action is required to turn this around.

Fire Sporano. He took an incredibly mediocre unit and made it putrid.
Insert Easton at center and move Berger to RG. Get Fusco off the field.
I don't what the hell you really do at tackle. Put Sirles where he will play the best and try to figure out something with Long and Clemmings. Maybe Long will actually improve as he knocks off more rust.
Call more max protections. Giving Bradford more than 8 milliseconds to throw is more important than having an extra receiver down field.

When is the last time you had a mental examination?

I'm not crazy. My mother had me tested.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2016 9:44:44 AM)

The biggest issue it the play calling. Everyone on the planet knows our OLine sucks. So what does Norv game plan around? Trying to establish a running game with a very mediocre RB. Brilliant. First play of the game was Asiata to the right for about 1/2 a yard. I looked at my wife and said "yup, we are getting beat tonight".

It's incredibly predictive and any idiot coordinator can figure out exactly what we are going to do. Hell, I can so I know they can.

All the talk, all week, is that our Line is in trouble. He comes out and exploits their weaknesses yet it never seems to get brought up. He gives them know chance to succeed.

Exactly where I'm at.
We got out-coordinated last night IMO, no matter the talent level.
Loved Chicagos game plan against us, our plan against them was laughable.
It's like our good young ballplayers that come up and look great for two weeks, then suddenly look horrific.
The other guys get paid to watch your film and plan against you.
We act here in Minnesota like that's unfair. It's the game. And we are losing at it in almost every sport.
The Wild is the only current team in town with a known entity paying attention to that kind of stuff.

McMurfy -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2016 9:52:26 AM)

Is it just me or does Asiata's acceleration into the line seem as fast as any human?
Then he is stopped after a yard as fast as anyone I've ever seen too.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2016 9:53:08 AM)

I'm really old. I've watched more football than anyone I know.
And honestly I've never seen offensive linemen get trucked over and over like ours were last night.
It was mesmerizing to me. Clemmings I-got-my-foot-in-a-bucket move is hilarious, awkward, and ineffective.

I actually texted my son last night that I was concerned Asiata may break his neck one day running into one of our stood up offensive linemen. The human enema has returned.

We need to run an offense similar to what we did with Tark back in the 70's. The line then was bad enough that there was no chance of establishing a running game, so they didn't bother trying. Instead they ran a lot of quick short passing routes that chewed up about 4-7 yards. Get the defense to cheat up to cover the short stuff and then stretch it out.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2016 10:08:43 AM)

I did get a kick out of Jay Cutler acting like a good teammate for an entire game however.
That was fun TV.
Most unlikable puke on the planet forcing himself to be a rah-rah guy is always hilarious.
Bet the Cutler family dog took an ass kicking last night, or the hallway Sheetrock.

Yup. You are what you are.
Deal with it.
Tark figured that out and made it work.

My favorite game was a Thursday night game against Dallas in Dallas. They came into the game 6-2 and we were 4-4. They were dominating and the Vikings were very ordinary. Despite having played on Sunday, Bud Grant threw in a completely different offensive formation for the Thursday night game. In those days, the Vikings did very little shifting when they came up to the offensive line. That night, the team was shifting all over the place....something we had seen from the Cowboys but never from the Vikings. They won 21 to 10 and had a 21 to 3 lead at halftime. There was no way the Vikings should have won that game. Foreman had a huge game with over 100 yards rushing and 5 receptions for 30+ yards. Tark was 18 of 32 for 139 yards......short but effective passes that took zero time to develop. The Cowboys were on their heels all night long.

It was perhaps the best game plan I have ever seen the Vikings create and execute. They weren't that good. they finished 8-7-1 for the season, got 1st in the division and were crushed by the Rams in the first round. They gave up 12 more points than they scored. But they carved up the Cowboys that night. Dallas went 12-4 that season, lost the super bowl to the Steelers 35-31 in one of the most entertaining super bowls of all time.

Corleone -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/2/2016 9:43:19 AM)

Norv Turner resigns. Guess we get to see if he was really the problem or not...

A funny smell seems to emanating from Winter Park...

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/2/2016 9:55:06 AM)

Whether or not it helps, it should help us understand where the actual problem lies.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/2/2016 9:56:02 AM)

So we will soon find out .......
Very smelly indeed Corleone.
