I get your point Bill
And it ended up working in the end
But I don't ram my beautiful new pickup over and over into a tree.
I look for ways to avoid trees, and see the scenery around and beyond.
You can have a plan that is a lot less taxing on the equipment, than that one was.
Yes, you need to run on first down sometimes.
Yes, those will be stopped for no gain occasionally.
But when you do it on 95% of your possessions, just stop it.
Predictability, imo, is the biggest enemy of the Minnesota Vikings. And its self-inflicted. Has been, since 1961.
My wife did the same thing to me that you did ... "would you shut up about it" she said as she left the room. [:D]

Its refreshing to watch other teams.
NE for years, has given me the thrill of not knowing what is coming.
KC has taken over that role.
They run when you swear they'd pass. They pass when you know they need to run.
The results speak for themselves.
Our dinosaurs just keep wanting to TELL you we are running, and then run. It's maddening to me.

Many complained about how we kept running the ball when the results were not good. But it was absolutely the right thing to do.

If our running game can pound out 100 yards rushing against a really good Chi defense that was game planning to stop it I like our chances going forward.

By no means can we abandon the run and let a defense tee off on Cousins.

Keep in mind, most of the success came after Hicks was injured. My main complaint wasn't about running, it was about running between the tackles, which was going nowhere.

No hip pointer for Foles
Bruises and strain
Probably won't be out of much action
Looked worse than it is

Lucky to have the bye this week.

Bad news for the Bears

Foles is terrible

So is Trubisky.

Yes

They can take the overpaid Cousins off our hands.

Monday and the previous wins are mirages.

Cousins good performance is not sustainable.

We need a QB that can run/move.

Don't tell Brad H but I would take Darnold off of Jets hands.....They have so depressed his value.

Pitch outs weren't working either. OLine is way better but we need to find another Guard to make this team a championship team.

Bears LBs were selling out to stop Cook and that lead to all the easy mid range completions that Cousins had.

Rank
16
Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings
4-5
Previous rank: No. 16

It took 10 tries, but Kirk Cousins finally won a start on Monday Night Football. Perhaps that's why we saw the Vikings quarterback in such an excited state after his fourth-quarter completion to Kyle Rudolph helped seal the 19-13 win over the Bears. These guys don't live their lives in a bubble, and it's one less narrative that Cousins -- ever the lightning rod -- has to hear about. Mike Zimmer wasn't happy with his special teams converge unit on Monday, but he has to be feeling pretty good about just about everything else. The Vikings have won three straight and find themselves back in the NFC playoff race. Their 1-5 start feels like ancient history now.

From NFL.com
Btw,
Only on ESPN, would the Packers come off a beatdown from the Vikings, and a squeaker over the Jags (that they really lost), and STILL rise to #4. Objectivity, much? Vikings at 19 on ESPN, hasn't changed lately
Both have the Bears above the Vikings. What the ...
You'd watch that game Monday night and say that? Uhhh, ok.

In part why it's entertainment only for me regarding the rankings.

A Gardy eye test will tell you something else.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/19/2020 11:13:26 AM)

They're 4-11 and still favored over the 13-2 Vikes because they have Erin Rodgers.

They've lost 9 in a row, all division games, but they'll probably pull out the division in week 17 because they have Erin Rodgers

4th and 34, they run a QB sneak, pick up a 1/4 of a yard and pass interference gives them the first because they have Erin Rodgers

They are on the bye and given the win because they have Erin Rodgers

That's just how it goes when the media falls in love.

Damn, thought the Cardinals had another one in em
Probably should have won this one, lost last one
I hate how Seattle takes all these fortunate wins in stride, like they have it in the bag all the time.
Irritating winners.

That's from the top.

Pete Carroll is an irritating coach.

Gotta agree
I actually liked him
He got his start here under Bud, and I liked the youthful infusion he tried to instill (but of course was stifled)
Then I liked him at USC, mostly because he was beating the teams I disliked
But you're right, lately, he's just lucky, and irritating. Thank God he choked away their SB win vs the Pats, or he'd be even bigger.

Safety Jake Scott dead at 75
Part of the Dolphins dynasty when I was growing up
Did not like that bunch but they were solid, for a long time.

One of the best calls of the decade, and IMO all time

Stabler and the Raiders beat the defending champion Dolphins on the rollout TD pass to Clarence Davis.

Curt Gowdy was fantasic in that call

Those were the days when every team had a couple guys who looked like your neighbors Dad, or your Dentist
Jake Scott was one of those
Different world back then
Guys could get by on guile and smarts and toughness. Swear some couldn't do a 6 second forty

I think its best if the Cardinals lose a bunch in terms of the Vikings getting into playoffs.

Vikings lose a tiebreaker against Seattle for sure.

Cardinals are not as good as their record IMO. They have been pretty lucky and Murray's numbers are not that great for the hype he gets.

Saints turning over the QB duties to Taysom Hill
Hope he struggles or we will never hear the end of it
Payton will be even more unbearable than he is now.

That's nuts.

For his 3 year career, he's 10/18 for 205 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT.

And he's 30 years old.

Why in the heck wouldn't they start Teddy Bridgewater?
