Zimmer is 22 below .500 on games vs teams that would finish the season with a winning record

17-39

Dang

How does he have a job

How did he get an extension?

bstinger -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2021 9:56:46 AM)

The coach is a loser and the QB is a loser.

Blow it up.

agreed. There are no hot streaks, cold streaks, times when "they are figuring it out", "moving in the right direction". ect.........

If the Vikings play somebody good, they lose.

It's just that simple.

Mister Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2021 10:42:54 AM)

Hunter feared to have a torn pectoral

Steve Lentz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2021 10:43:55 AM)

Looks like we might have a good Ol in Darrisaw. The Ol still sucks. Gregory and Parsons owned us.

Mister Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2021 10:44:22 AM)

It’s ironic

Many nfl guys get millions and get hurt almost every year

Fans shrug

Buxton gets hurt

And fan’s aghast that the Twins would pay him anything significant

Darrisaw made the one mistake
It’s not a coincidence The pressure came from elsewhere the rest of the game
O Neil had issues

The middle is a sieve

Mister Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/1/2021 11:02:00 AM)

Saw this on Twitter thought it was pretty good

In honor of the Vikings, I plan on starting strong this morning, mismanaging my time throughout the day, avoid any sort of risks, and then pretty much fall apart by the end of the day

Only one HC remains below Zimmer with a worse record against winning teams, that coached for 4+ seasons: Jay Gruden (.211)

I bet the point differential would be extremely ugly in those games.

I don't like paying lots of money to oft injured players in any sport.

Buxton is the epitome of "oft injured".

That being said, if they trade him or let him go...they are a bunch of dumbfucks.

I had the same thought on Hunter. I was thinking, yeah, no wonder the Vikes didn't want to fork over the big bucks for a guy that's injured....but they did.....and now they look like idiots. But it seems like you and I are the only ones questioning it. Vikes get a free pass on this kind of stuff all the time. Personally I would not have paid him. He cannot stay healthy and he's getting older every season, just like everyone else.

Completely unrelated injury and only the second one he's ever had. And he turned 27 three days ago.

Also it seems like you guys are ignoring the slight difference in the 2 sports when it comes to physicality and contact.

How many baseball players would even make it through a season if they ran into each other (or ran into the wall) full speed 60 times each week?

Agree with first 2 statements. Line 3, If you can find somebody who's done that, I'd like to see it.

Mister Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/2/2021 7:32:13 AM)

There’s always risk with all sports
Buxton lost time n part because he was hit by a 90plus pitch that broke a bone
He has also lost time because he’s thrown his body around going 20 mph or faster
He’s 27
He’s a talent to take the risk on

Mister Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/2/2021 7:41:44 AM)

Sounds like Hunter is due a big roster bonus in early 2022
And the Vikings will have to renegotiate or cut him

Cannot imagine trying to balance a NFL cap

Signing him was a big risk and a big mistake.

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins Fans (11/2/2021 10:42:07 AM)

In a salary cap league, especially, the Hunter extension was ill-advised.

Locking up Buxton long-term is much smarter because there is no cap in MLB.

Vikes have screwed themselves for years to come.

Of course, but season ending injuries are a part of football.

Its a risk with every contract.

Dumb.

So you'd put out a team full of only rookies and journeymen?

Let all your stars sign elsewhere when they're due for their 2nd contracts?

Patriots should have cut Brady after his season ending injury in 2008.

You also apparently have no clue how contracts work in the NFL.

Agree to disagree.
