A group of students say that former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas threatened to kill them shortly before his car crash this weekend, constituting the second alleged road rage incident involving Bironas in the hours before his death, according to a report from The Tennesseean.

Connor Fraley told the newspaper that a pickup truck he was traveling in as a passenger along with three fellow students pulled up next to Bironas's SUV at an intersection on Saturday night, shortly after Bironas's wife called police to report him missing.

Fraley said those in his vehicle noticed a burning smell coming from Bironas's vehicle, the window of which was down. According to his account to The Tennesseean, Fraley told Bironas about the smell, and in response, he said "I'm going to kill everybody in your (expletive) vehicle." Bironas then engaged the pickup truck in what became a high-speed chase and tried to sideswipe the students before they managed to lose him.

The only things I can think of in the Bironas situation are:

1) He had a complete mental break
2) His wife is holding back a lot of info. Maybe this has happened before and she's covering? Maybe it's related to some CTE stuff from the past and they had him on some drugs for it, etc.
3) He got some disturbing text from a GF on the side and it sent him into an absolute rage as he went to her place or "for a drive".

The whole thing is just very frightening and weird. The whole community is talking about it.

ESPN suspends Simmons for 3 weeks for profane tirade about NFL Commissioner Goodell


3 weeks......that is a longer suspension than Goodell and the NFL initially gave Ray Rice of two weeks.

I doubt that the fact that ESPN and the NFL are partners in Monday Night Football had anything to do with this.

Freedom of Speech only applies to the Government not prosecuting you for saying something unflattering about the government or government officials.

It's such BS too. Simmons has said a whole lot of similar things about David Stern and "fixes" for instance. His JOB is to be an editorial sports guy. And he's by far the best in the business. Total chickenshit, BS move from ESPN to do this.
