I've secretly been hoping to see AD burst out of the pew there in court and make a run for the door.
I wanna see just how good these Texas bailiffs are.

[&:][&:][&:][&:]

Only thing that scares them (the Texas bailiffs) are AD and Marsupials.....both are fast, real fast

And vegetables.  Texans are deathly afraid of those things.

Are they afraid of Ketchup? It was a veggie for a time back in the 80's. The leader of the free world called it a vegetable.

That reminds me of the Jamie Oliver show about obesity in America (specifically WV).  The school system(s) there declared French fries as an acceptable veggie for school lunches.  [:-]

Seems to me a logical decision. The French don't suffer with rampant obesity like Americans. Their fries must be healthy.[;)]

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/6/2014 11:42:21 AM)

The NFL rejected an attempt by representatives for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to have him immediately reinstated after his plea agreement this week and refused to discuss any settlement over his playing status, report Fox Sports’ Mike Garofolo.

On Tuesday, Peterson pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault and was ordered to pay a $4,000 fine and perform 80 hours of community service. He originally faced felony charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child after being accused of hitting his 4-year-old son with a switch.

According to the report, the NFL Players Association, Peterson’s agent Ben Dogra and his lawyer Rusty Hardin kept in contact with the league to let them know that a plea agreement would be coming.

Garofolo’s sources said that the NFL would make a decision on Peterson’s status soon and he would be informed when that happens.

Garofolo reports that Peterson’s team wanted to know what he needed to do to get back on the field as soon as possible. Peterson, who played in one game this season and ran for 75 yards, has missed the last eight games after being placed on the NFL's exempt/commissioner's permission list until his case was resolved.

Mid-season Mock draft, MN at 13

13

LA'EL COLLINS, OT
Senior, LSU
Easily could flip-flop this pick with the Cooper(ALA WR Amari Cooper) one, given the needs in Carolina and Minnesota. (Here, Cordarrelle Patterson seems far less a No. 1 receiver than an electrifying complement, while Greg Jennings will be 32 years old in September and is making $9 million per season.) Saving that, the Vikings have to fix their offensive line. Collins a full-effort grinder who excels in the run game.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/7/2014 12:11:10 PM)

@ProFootballTalk
I have a feeling a storm is coming over NFL's failure to honor terms of deal that put Adrian Peterson on Commissioner-Exempt list.

djskillz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/7/2014 1:06:44 PM)

Pretty interesting. They're really in a tough spot now with the Goodell allegations by Newsome as well.

I'd be ecstatic with either Collins or Cooper. Cooper I think is the most complete receiver to come out of Alabama yet (ie more complete than Julio) and we could certainly use that.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/7/2014 2:51:39 PM)

NFL Stat heads say
If we compare both runners with our projection for a full Adrian Peterson season, Peterson would add approximately 10 more points to the Vikings offense on the ground, and 4 fewer through the air. That means that, with Peterson over the course of the entire season, the Vikings would be expected to score one more touchdown. Based on a regression of our efficiency metrics against team wins, six points equates to approximately 0.16 wins.

Value of Replacements: -6 Points, -0.16 Wins

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/7/2014 3:09:30 PM)

I don't like the OT prospect for us.  We need a tackle that excels in pass coverage.  If he's a great/good run blocker that's just gravy.  We can't have bookend "Loadholdts".

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/9/2014 10:58:48 AM)

Sweet!
ISIS and The Taliban face off again today in Green Bay.
At least I have one game where I can pull for pestilence, hail, tornadoes, and ebola .... to appear.

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/9/2014 11:11:13 AM)

If I were the Bears (and thank goodness I'm not), I'd be pretty ticked at the league for scheduling back to back games against division rivals who are both coming off of bye weeks. The Packers had a bye last week and play the Bears tonight, and the Vikings have a bye this week and play the Bears next week.

It used to always seem like we'd get the Packers right after their bye week but it never went the other way for us. One season in particular (why do I remember stuff like this but I can't remember where I put my gloves?) - the Vikings traveled on a Sunday to some away game and then turned around to travel to Green Bay on a short week for a Thursday night game, and the Packers were coming off of a bye week. Double whammy, but boy did it sure feel like it was done intentionally by the league.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/9/2014 11:20:29 AM)

Agreed, Lynn.
The NFL has never been afraid to make life tough for the Vikings, imo.
Trust me, we don't need the extra grief.
We can usually mess things up on our own, thank you. [:D]

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/10/2014 8:21:13 AM)

This division is the haves and have nots.

The Vikes/Bears are have nots. I have no idea how this game will play out. I do expect there to be lots of mess ups.

djskillz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/10/2014 8:39:24 AM)

I think we got an awful draw. If there is ANY fight left in these Bears, they're going to show it this week after that shellacking.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/10/2014 8:42:42 AM)

Nice to see someone else go in there and lay a big egg
Embarassing
You're not THAT good, Green Bay.

Agree Skilz .. if they have even a shred of pride, we will certainly see it next week,

42, like his number.

djskillz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (11/10/2014 9:51:20 AM)

Terrible.

FORTY TWO

What a brutal game. My future kids will not be allowed to play football. Don't really care how mad at me they get.
