And I agree Miles, Goodell is making shit up as he goes along. He didn't have the kiwis to suspend Peterson earlier and gave him a paid vacation instead. Now he decided to suspend him for the rest of the year. I forget who it was that said awhile back that the NFL is on the verge of imploding because of its sheer arrogance. Whoever it was, I agree.

At least that's how I keep interpreting the information I've been reading. I wouldn't be surprised if the front office and ownership don't want to deal with it, even if the players do.

It really sucks. I'm not condoning what he did; it's awful. But this is ridiculous from Goodell. And they don't care for one second about the kid; they care about making up for bad PR from Rice. Reactionary and over the line, IMO. And the Vikings are complicit in all of this because they are gutless themselves. I hope the NFL gets brushed back, hard.
