I watched a fair amount of Manziel yesterday. It was total deer in the headlights. Just didn't have a clue. But, it's his first start. We'll see what happens in a week.

Well we lasted awhile without mentioning Manziel (for some reason)

They'll always be connected (well, at least as long as Johnny is in the league...)

He can't do much worse... I mean he hit every single red flag yesterday.

- Horrible mechanics and footwork.
- No zip at all, he floated everything.
- Awful decision making under pressure.
- Lowered his head to try to "truck" a LBer 10 yards shy of the sticks.
- Looked totally lost in a structured offense.

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (12/15/2014 12:48:36 PM)

But he took all the heat in the post-game presser
So .... All is good then.

Irritating to see the teams I hate (see:the Saints) ... Start out terribly ..... And yet, still ..... Remain relevant
A bunch of teams this season seemed dead in the water, yet suddenly, they are controlling their own destiny.
So tired of our teams being irrelevant

Man, the Bears have quit their season. Awful.

Jay cutler has sunk so low .... I'm almost feeling sorry for him
Almost
He may be the most miserable-acting athlete of my lifetime.
A pouty, pukey, primping punk.
Some guys need an ass-kicking. NEED one. He needs one.

He's playing to make money, IMO. Doesn't seem like he even enjoys the game. Just an end to the means.

And I don't feel sorry for him either. He's more of a PAB than Perkins can dream to be.

Coach killer. He's 2-2 now, because Trestman is dead-man walking.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (12/16/2014 2:29:07 PM)

hicago Bears safety Chris Conte said he thinks playing in the NFL is worth having a shorter life, he said on WBBM-AM 780's pregame show on Monday.

Conte, 25, did not play during Monday night's 31-15 loss to the New Orleans Saints because of a back injury. Conte has been injured several times this season, including a pair of concussions.

Conte said he is not worried about the long-term health risks associated with playing professional football, according to a transcription from The Chicago Tribune's Rich Campbell.

"I'd rather have the experience of playing in the NFL and die 10 to 15 years earlier than not play in the NFL and have a long life," he said.

"I don't really look toward my life after football. I'll figure things out when I get there. As long as I outlive my parents."

"I'm not saying I'm going to go die when I'm 45, 50," he said. "I'm fortunate to go out and play football."

I was actually dumb that way when I was in my 20s and 30s too.
Look at it differently now.
But at that time, yep, I'd have taken that deal too.
Funny how your priorities change

Get some grandkids which you probably will in the next few years.....

You want to be healthy to be able to play with them and if things go well, see them married and have families on their own.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (12/18/2014 9:41:55 AM)

Bye Bye 49ers. No brainer

Michigan has offered San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh a six-year, $48 million contract for the same position, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

According to Joe Pequeno of CBS5, Michigan's offer is for six years and $49 million.

Based on average yearly value, the contract would make Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in college football. Alabama's Nick Saban, the current highest-paid coach, earned $6.9 million this season as part of a new deal he signed in the spring.

He will get TOTAL control at Michigan
Get the feeling that's what he's been seeking
Will be interesting to watch. I thought he was building a monster in SF but it fell apart quickly.
He's lucky to have a solid school with deep pockets after him. Will be given every opp to succeed.

Kapernick has not improved. Probably has regressed. They don't throw down field as much as they had.

Jim Harbaugh has alienated a lot of people in San Fran, particularly his GM. They, the 49er's front office, won't be sad to see him leave for Michigan.

And yet next time they play the Packers he'll still throw for 300 and run for another 150.

Creative ways to lose.

And a MIA team offensively challenged carved up the D.

1 more week and another lost season ends.

David Levine -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (12/21/2014 5:30:38 PM)

We found our young QB. That alone makes it not a lost season.

Love the Bridgewater Crews unbridled blind optimism.

We are losing games we should be winning.
Lots of potential in the young man, but we are still losing winnable games, when a completion here or there or a better decision, could have us winning them.
He's a bright spot, but he's not a sure thing yet.
Very important off-season. again. As usual.

Hamburger Helper looks better than the Manzier Man so far.
