Brian Duensing has opted out of his minor league deal with the Royals. Duensing exercised his opt-out clause after going 1-0 with a 3.10 ERA in 12 outings for Triple-A Omaha. The 33-year-old boasts 354 games of major league experience, all with Minnesota. Some bullpen-needy team will take a chance on him.

Hmmmmmmm

Oh, you know damn well they're thinking it ......

It would be nice to add another lefty to our pen.

Matt...when you were a kid, you just loved pouring gasoline onto a fire, didn't you.[;)]

Bet he was the one trying to tie firecrackers to the cats tail also

Somebody had to take over the Pete role since he has nearly abandoned the board. [:D]

Saw some grainy footage of the Twins next home-grown slugger .... Hope we out-bid Duke BB for his services one day.

He bats RH, but he's making him throw lefty. Brilliant!

Petes always been smart that way .... [:D]

MDK -> RE: Former Twins News (5/20/2016 4:36:12 PM)

Interesting stats on Hicks

April 23 at bats .087/.160/.087/.247
May 53 at bats .264/.281/.434/.715

41 at bats vs. RHP as a LHB .268/.256/.463/.719

33 at bats vs LHP as a RHB .152 /.243/.182/.425

TJSweens -> RE: Former Twins News (5/20/2016 4:43:27 PM)

Same shit different year. Functional as a RHB, worthless as a LHB. Somewhere before the year is over, he will no doubt get hot for a month and then lose interest.

Look at the number again......his better numbers are as a LHB vs RHP

I was surprised.

TJSweens -> RE: Former Twins News (5/20/2016 4:54:18 PM)

Sorry I misread the P & B. No doubt his LHB numbers will drop below his RHB numbers in due time.

If they do, I am sure the Yankees will realize that his value might be as a platoon player and late inning defensive specialist.

Doubt the Twins would ever think a little outside the box.

the use of Polanco or lack of use and the continued penciling in of Nunez who is not an everyday shortstop and the pending return of Escobar who is not an everyday shortstop leads me to believe that with some players, they continue to drive a square peg into a round hole.......Arcia in the outfield exhibit A. Sano in RF exhibit B.

twinsfan -> RE: Former Twins News (5/20/2016 10:31:14 PM)

Miles hates Arcia a lot!

Stacey King -> RE: Former Twins News (5/22/2016 1:10:15 PM)

The Angels called up Deolis Guerra. He took AJ Achter's 25-man spot

For all of the talk of Hicks being a head case on this forum, Arcia strikes me as the biggest head case ever. Doesn't work at all at his game nor does he seem to listen to instruction. Hicks' problem was he would listen too much to coaches and try and do things that contradicted each other.

SoMnFan -> RE: Former Twins News (5/22/2016 4:07:50 PM)

Papi 4-4 today with 3 rbi and a couple doubles.
Saaaaawks 27-17.
Salt >>>>>>>> Wound

Orioles signed LHP Brian Duensing to a minor league contract.

Orioles released INF Steve Tolleson. (Drafted in the 5th round (165th overall) by the Minnesota Twins in 2005)

Tolleson, 32, was batting .100 (2-for-20) with six walks and five strikeouts over eight games with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate.

So much for the theory that Duensing was heading back to the Twins.

Stacey King -> RE: Former Twins News (5/30/2016 10:49:05 PM)

Casey Fien as a Dodger: 6 batters faced, 6 outs, 4 strikeouts

Stacey King -> RE: Former Twins News (6/4/2016 2:49:55 PM)

Mark Teixeira to the 15-day DL with a torn cartilage in right knee.

Yankees sign first baseman Chris Parmelee to major league contract

Dick Bremer announced that Arcia has 60 pair of shoes in his clothes closet. That tells you something about this guy's priorities. He is a player already spending money above his means. He is still drawing close to league minimum pay (which is enormous for the average person) but he may be out of professional baseball by next season. I would venture he does not buy $50-$60 shoes. More like $500-$1,000 Italian leather and upwards. What an idiot!
