Looks like DP is running the Nationwide race Saturday. Hopefully she runs well just to stick it to the ignorant rednecks. The 500 is gonna be interesting with this rules package.

It showed Sat night already. We didn't see many single file break aways like we've seen in the past few years

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/14/2010 1:09:56 PM)

If Robby Gordon wins Daytona today, do you think he'll get the financial support needed to run a full schedule? Would he back out of his Monster Truck, IRL and Off-Road commitments?

What's wrong with the sound today? It's been going silent a lot....like they are cutting out swear words. It's annoying to listen to. Get the mics out of the pit areas if it's gonna be a continuing problem.

You're dreaming if you think he will win

I have no problem with sound

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/14/2010 4:09:04 PM)

When was the last NASCAR race at Daytona? 6 months ago? They had all that time to prepare the track for this week of racing, and they didn't have the foresight to take care of this problem area in advance? Now the 2010 Daytona 500 has been ruined with a long and unnecessary delay. What an embarrassment for the sport on its biggest day. This is much worse than Bud Selig's All-Star Game fiasco, because it's a worthless All-Star game and who really cares about a tie game under a leaky roof in Milwaukee? The NFL would never drop the ball and allow a Super Bowl field to be anything less than pristine on its biggest day. Not a great start to the NASCAR season.

Why?? 34 cars on the lead lap and Robby is one of them. He has as good a chance as anyone.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/14/2010 5:42:20 PM)

There's enough money in NASCAR that they should be repaving its most important track (by a longshot) on a regular basis....create jobs for the common man...stop the greed at the top of the totem pole. I spend a lot of time trying to explain how I can be a NASCAR fan to friends. I will have a difficult time defending myself this time.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/14/2010 5:52:23 PM)

27 laps to go and Robby less than one second behind the leader. DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/14/2010 5:53:42 PM)

And now Robby is drafting with Harvick, the fastest car of the day. This could be magical.

TheGonz -> RE: NASCAR (2/14/2010 6:27:22 PM)

This race has had more false starts than a Ryan Cook highlight reel.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/14/2010 6:35:06 PM)

Freakin' Robby was 19th on the last lap and crashed out to finish 28th. [&o]

Thats the Robby Gordon we have all to come to love.

As far as the track it's been scheduled to be repaved in 2011 for about a year and a half now. I don't see how you can blame them for something that wasn't a problem till 77 to go.

Jim Frenette -> RE: NASCAR (2/19/2010 10:59:59 AM)

Danica getting ready for her second appearance in a NASCAR race, the Stater Bros 300 in Fontana Ca. The sponsor is the company I retired from

So.Mn.Fan -> RE: NASCAR (2/21/2010 7:14:30 PM)

Whoa!
Danica Patrick making headlines today .... she's "upset" over her latest disappointing finish.
In other shocking news .... the sun rose in the Eastern sky this morning.

TJSweens -> RE: NASCAR (2/21/2010 10:22:57 PM)

...and NASCAR is still dull as dish water.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: NASCAR (2/22/2010 10:58:56 AM)

Serious question.  Has Danica Patrick ever actually won a race?  She's the Michelle Wie of racing.  If you want T&A  in racing put Jessica Simpson out there or something.  At least that would be entertaining in a different way.

TJSweens -> RE: NASCAR (2/22/2010 11:28:39 AM)

No, Michelle Wie has actually won a tournament this past year.

Yes she has won a Indy car race in 2008

She might want to think about finishing better than 35th one of these weeks. If she's not in the Top 35 after the 5th race, she'll need to 'Go' or 'Go Home' at qualifying.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/28/2010 1:16:58 PM)

I see Robby Gordon is starting 42nd today, but he did not have a qualifying time. Any idea what happened, Jim? Did he pass on qualifying and just use his guaranteed spot for finishing in the Top 35 last year? Or did he crash out of qualifying? Neither one makes any sense to me, as Eric Almirola starts 43rd and he did have a qualifying time.

Come on, Jim....you can watch and post at the same time. You do it all the time during Twins games.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/28/2010 1:26:45 PM)

Why does Chris Meyers wear one of the Garth Brooks mics in the studio? What kind of studio doesn't have hanging mics on set? If you're gonna wear a mic, wear it on your tie. The only exception would be if you're not wearing a tie....like if you're a clergyman or a singer.

Only time I do it during a Twins game is if I'm listening to it on the radio. PC to far from TV

Missed most of qualifying so I don't know what happened to Robby. Maybe he changed engines

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/28/2010 2:22:30 PM)

Didn't take Robby long to get his sponsor some TV time.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/28/2010 2:26:48 PM)

My darkhouse pick today is Sam Hornish.

twinsfan -> RE: NASCAR (2/28/2010 10:11:30 PM)

I think I'm gonna start liking Jimmie Johnson. That should put the curse on him.
